The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
You will be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of all training and development activities within Material Handling, that support Associate Standardised Work, PPS and CIP. To lead both the achievement of daily performance objectives and long-term project delivery through the practical application of Lean tools and improvement techniques, Visual Management techniques, Practical Problem Solving and the coaching of Lean Principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all MTM timings to support TAKT changes.
• Development and control of on and off job training records.
• Work with material Handling first line to agree future training and project plans in line with business needs.
• Accountability for delivery of standard business measures within the material Handling department.
• liaise with Tech Support managers to support next generation requirements.
• Supporting Team Leader and Process manager in line with Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Strategic alignment of methodologies in line with Group systems, New Logistics Concept (NLK)
• Execute monthly audits for 5s / VDA 6.3 conformance ensuring links to TS 16949 business systems
• Provide ad hoc cover for Logistics Process Managers on shift pattern.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Has operational experience within a Manufacturing Logistics area at management Level.
• Must have material handling / warehouse experience.
• Ability to develop training material / programmes to suit requirements with good all round knowledge of Production Systems and lean manufacturing Principles.
• Developed and assessed Team leaders / Managers and delivered agreed training strategies and plans.
• Ability to project manage, plan and adhere to schedules.
• Have a wide range of lean manufacturing experience and demonstrated the ability to guide and coach Associates in the application of lean principles
• Have a proven record of delivering CIP initiatives into a Manufacturing Logistics environment

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Has demonstrable knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles either internally or externally. ie Continuous improvement, practical problem Solving , Standardised Work, Kaizen, 5S etc.
• Formal CIP / Lean Qualifications within the manufacturing logistics environment
• Experience of Health and Safety legislation in Logistics environment, formal risk assessments etc.
