The Role:
Role:

Under broad direction, guides team through the strategic logistics process to determine the optimum solution for internal customer needs based on market capabilities. This is a technical position that requires proven expertise in logistics and project management.

• Serves as main point of contact with the PSL/ Supply Chain organization on logistics matters.
• Develops logistics strategies for major projects and mobilizations / demobilizations.
• Plans logistics strategies (distribution hubs, inter-modal, routes, and lanes) for new geographical areas.
• Reviews transportation networks to improve service to customers and reduce logistics costs.
• Develops and executes implementation plans to ensure the successful implementation of sourcing strategy.
• Analyzes, develops and leads the implementation of the logistics strategy for designated project.
• Possession of an International Air Transport Association (IATA) certificate
required for international operation.
• Possession of an International Air Transport Association (IATA) certificate

• Provides necessary tools and support to the Logistics Coordinators
• Identifies opportunities for improvement of processes. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree or certification in foreign trade, international
commerce,supply chain, business or similar discipline and/or a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Communicates and coordinates with all parties involved in relation to materials movements.
• Develops training and certification programs
• Provides necessary tools and support to the Logistics Coordinators
• Responsible for department budget

Requirements:

• Must have Bachelors Degree
• 5 Years related experience in international commerce, supply chain, foreign trade, or similar business
• Possession of an International Air Transport Association (IATA) certificate required for international operation


Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential Function/Responsibilities:

• Maintains up to date country and plant shipping instructions by mode of transportation 10%.
• Coordinates with the internal and external customers in preparation of goods for shipping 10%.
• Creates documentation from SAP required to ship goods to end destination as per shipping instructions 10%.
• Checks products in Dangerous Goods Manual to confirm they are dangerous and assign the proper United Nations number 10%.
• Owns the Logistics Practice Manual review and update process for the area of responsibility 10%.
• Ensures Sarbanes-Oxley logistics issues are precluded from global logistics operations 10%.
• Ensures compliance of the logistics organization with policies, procedures and local laws, and global logistics guidelines 10%.
• Controls service providers invoices and approves for payment 10%.
