The Role:
To set up the projects drilling supply base. Develop terms and conditions and minimum technical requirements and specifications for supply base facilities, operations and personnel.

Develop the project’s logistics procedures manual complete with all processes, templates and forms to conduct the full range of air, marine and personnel logistics for the exploration drilling campaign. This procedures manual will also form the basis of any future appraisal and development operations.

Procure all necessary marine services that will be required in support of drilling operations unit in excess of 160 miles offshore.

Procure helicopter services for the transport of personnel to and from the rig.

Develop the team’s safety and loss prevention philosophy and procedures manual for all logistics operations.

Manage and plan all drilling logistics on a daily, weekly, monthly and per well basis to ensure that the rig is fully supported and has the necessary materials, equipment and personnel on location when they are required.

Supervise all supply base operations. Management of supply base and port contractor(s) to ensure smooth, trouble-free and safe operations.

Ensure the efficient and cost effective return of all relevant equipment and personnel.

Manage all personnel movements to and from the rig and within country where necessary.

Inventory and track all equipment and materials throughout the drilling campaign. Conduct end-of campaign audit and materials reconciliation.

Conduct contractor performance reviews.

Review all logistics service providers’ invoices and ensure they are correct and as per the contract. Sign off on invoices.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience with a multinational oil and gas company in the development and management of the drilling logistics process.

Experience of having set up a logistics support system for drilling operations in a remote and / or Greenfield location.

Experience in developing and writing corporate logistics, safety and loss prevention procedures.

Although a strong team player who can function in a multi-disciplined team, the candidate will also be a motivated self starter and problem solver who can plan and manage their business in a challenging environment.

Must possess all relevant industry accreditation to be able to accept, store, handle, maintain, inspect and transport all equipment required for the well construction and testing processes.

Must have excellent written and spoken English skills.
