The Role:
The Planner role will provide planning and scheduling guidance and auditing of the Fabrication Contractor ensuring that the fabrication schedule produced is both operable and accurate as well as assisting in setting up the weekly reporting system and checking progress reported is accurate, as described below.
The Planner will provide necessary guidance, advice, support and services to the fabrication Site Manager, LTC Project Controls Manager and site team for fabrication planning and scheduling, progress monitoring and reporting. This position will guide and audit fabrication Contractor’s planning and control systems to ensure that progressing and monitoring of the fabrication is carried out in the most orderly and expedient manner and in accordance with the LTC expectations.
• Promote Client Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Sustainable development philosophies by example.
• Provide planning and scheduling support to the Fabrication Manager through execution.
• Provide guidance to the fabrication Contractor on the control, schedule and reporting requirements.
• Acts as the Site Teams focal point for all scheduling issues
• Coordinate the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Object Breakdown Structure (OBS) with cost estimator and cost controller.
• Coordinate schedule site based risk analysis through the Project Controls Manager.
• Monitor and analyse Contractor produced project progress reports relative to schedule to detect deviations and progressing deviations early and provide primary source of critique and council to Contractors scheduling.
• Report project progress and schedule deviations to Fabrication Manager.
• Act as an advisor, to Contractor and LTC management, on issues regarding the schedule
• Implement project documentation and data preservation routines at site.
• Participates in weekly progress and schedule review meetings.
• Monitors change and the impact of change at site.
• Liaises closely with Project Controls Manager in Home Office Aberdeen.
• Ensures relevant Client procedures are followed.
• Provides input into site weekly and monthly report
• Works closely with Cost Engineer to ensure fully integrated project controls system is implemented and operated.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Planning and scheduling to include: standards implementation and concurrence, Primavera implementation and use, implementation of Best Practice
• Fully compliant in topside module fabrication planning, scheduling, and Primavera skills
• Solid understanding of upstream fabrication projects and their management and control
• Strong communication skills
• Well-developed analytical skills with ability to asses fabrication plans and identify gaps and risks
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Structured and disciplined
• Self motivated
• Accountable and delivers on commitments
• Site based planning experience with large fabrication Contractors.
• Bachelor degree (B.Sc.) or equivalent education. Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience.
• Relevant experience within project management in the oil and gas industry as Project Planner in large Capital Projects.
• Excellent Primavera knowledge
• Good knowledge of key capital project management
