The Company:
Leading Nuclear Decommissioning Consultancy with offices throughout the UK. They are a major supplier to the nuclear industry working on a variety of projects for different sites.

The Role:
Our client requires a Lead Mechanical Engineer for LTPR Safety case work on Sellafield site.

Typical role requirements are as follows:-

Assessing current condition of multiple safety significant plant systems (SSCs) and substantiating their performance against their designated current safety functions.
Conversant with Sellafield standard and specifications.
Fully conversant with Engineering Schedules, HAZANs and OSM’s.
Reviewing historical performance data, determining the effects of corrosion (ageing) and calculating the effects of system fatigue/stress.
Estimating the remnant life of the equipment where applicable.
Highlighting system shortfalls, providing recommendations along with suggested system improvements and identifying any mitigating factors (i.e. recent plant modifications).
Provide a system summary and an expected confidence level for continued use.
Reviewing and censoring/redaction of intellectual property including: all types of working/operating instructions, PMPs, HAZANS, Clearance Certificates, Design Reports, Safety Assessments and engineering drawings, in line with Office for Civil Nuclear Security (OCNS) guidelines.
Producing new and modification of existing documentation, including operator/maintenance instructions and proof tests.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Conversant with Parts I and II of the LTPR production.
Previously SQEP’d for checking and approval on Sellafield site.
Basic CAD skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
SC clearance will be required to commence work
