The Role:
MAIN ACTIVITIES

1. Managing all maintenance activities including job preparation, planning, coordinating, scheduling, and execution of maintenance work to ensure a safe and efficient execution that optimizes plant equipment performance and availability
• Responsible for the day to day activities of the maintenance technicians and contractors executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Responsible for the planning process and work package preparation to ensure development of quality work plans and packages that support high levels of plant equipment reliability and employee safety.
• Perform assessment of planning effectiveness to identify improvements.
• Coordinate planning activities with operations and other departments.
• Work with engineering to develop maintenance strategies as wells as preventive and predictive maintenance plans as part of Maintenance & Reliability, Integrity Management system.
• Work with Operations, Facilities and Integrity engineering to ensure plant availability targets are met
• Establish and enforce expectations related to safety, procedure compliance, corrective actions and appropriate work behaviours.
• Perform job observations to ensure safety and quality standards are being met.
• Create and maintain group budget and direct activities to correct variances.
• Responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of planning procedures, methods and programs.
• Perform other duties as requested by Production Superintendent.
• Responsible for supervising and monitoring daily maintenance technician activities, training, performance, recognition and discipline.
• Makes decisions on routine supervisory issues, keeps management informed of plant issues, organizes plans, controls and executes goals and objectives as directed by management.
• Maintains program compliance with plant and corporate requirements and industry best practices.
• Supports the Maintenance and Reliability improvement program.
• Responsible for preparing, planning and scheduling maintenance activities for the assigned areas.
• Responsible for directing and guiding maintenance activities for assigned areas in the execution of maintenance plans.
• Oversee day to day maintenance activities at Gas Plant, Well Sites, Pipeline and associated facilities.
• Participate in the development of and implement maintenance strategies and plans
• Ensure all policies and procedures are carried out by maintenance team and contract representatives.
• Conduct maintenance in accordance with Industry guidelines, best practices and Maintenance & Reliability, Integrity guidelines and expectations.
• Responsible for team development of maintenance employees in assigned areas according to company strategy, to achieve best in class maintenance and reliability practices.
• Responsible for problem solving/root cause analysis to resolve and/or mitigate those operational/maintenance issues resulting in negative performance to plan.
• Responsible for support of the Hess maintenance and reliability improvement program and training as directed by Operations Manager, Production Superintendent.
• Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), lean maintenance and world class maintenance practices and processes.
• Responsible for compliance with all regulations, including government regulatory and policies and employee safety.
• Manage labour resource planning to ensure appropriate manpower utilization
• Manage and ensure achievement of all area maintenance KPIs;
• Provide input into annual budget process
• Ensure adherence to and continuous improvement for all area maintenance and reliability improvement goals.
• Responsible for supporting the execution of relevant projects within gas plant.
• Responsible to work with engineering to manage shutdowns and outages.
• Responsible for performance management process for contract maintenance employees. Ensure Diversity and Inclusion meets/exceeds corporate standards.
• Attempts to resolve grievance and disputes with the technicians whenever possible.
• Maintain understanding of equipment and plant processes and functional interdependencies.
• Monitors and inspects work of maintenance contractors carrying out assigned projects in the plant to ensure compliance with specified terms and parameters.
• Participate in leading daily work request review and morning meeting.
• Lead the weekly scheduling meeting to build a weekly schedule according to labor availability. Coordinate with the 90 day planner to build weekly schedule.
• Work with 90 day planner to build a 90 day plan
• Participate in driving root cause analysis process using RCA methodology.
• Maintain understanding of processes and functional interdependencies.
• Recognize and escalate, as needed, those issues identified as risks to, or opportunities to improve, plant performance. (Continuously improve the business)
• Optimize the planned to unplanned maintenance ratio.
• Adhere to and administer company policies and procedures
• Liaise with SCM on technical inquiry relating to parts or spare parts matters.
• Focal point for plant shutdown activities.
• Produce maintenance weekly/monthly report.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation) with ten years’ experience in operations, maintenance and/or engineering in oil and gas ,petro-chemical, or industrial setting with part of that working in the position of supervisor.
• Five years of experience with planning or scheduling of maintenance work at oil and gas, petro-chemical, or industrial facility.
• The candidate should have broad understanding of oil and gas equipment and best in class maintenance and repair activities to include Risk Based Inspection (RBI), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM),Safety Integrity System(SIS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and lean maintenance.
• In addition the candidate should have strong communication and leadership skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. The candidate should be familiar with industry codes and standards.
