The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Engineer has a key role in delivery of the maintenance requirements for one of the Client's major projects.

The role will start in an engineering contractors office, and subsequently move to site for construction, commissioning and start-up. The postholder will transfer to Production Division after start-up. The role will support one of the projects within the Client's portfolio, located in Oman, North Sea, Angola, or Azerbaijan.
The main focus of the role will be to develop the maintenance and integrity strategies required for operating phase, in order to achieve safe and reliable operation of the plant. In addition, the role will contribute maintenance expertise to the engineering, construction, commissioning and start-up phases.
This role therefore provides a unique opportunity to create, deliver and optimise the maintenance activities for a new plant.

Own the development of the maintenance and integrity programme for the project, including maintenance build and maintenance procedures. Manage interfaces, for example with other engineering delivery teams or with existing operational sites in the area.

Demonstrate HSSE leadership in establishing safe maintenance practices.

Seek out and embed operations / maintenance knowledge into the design of the facility. Participate in document and model reviews to ensure maintenance requirements are incorporated. Participate in Engineering Assurance activities including HAZOP.

Progress the development of the maintenance requirements for the project. This would include logistics, support contracts, spare parts, and design of workshop and warehouse facilities.

Maintain the Reliability and Availability model for the project on behalf of the Engineering Authority.

Manage the training programme and competency assessment process for maintenance technicians. Contribute to the recruitment of maintenance supervisors and technicians.

Participate in factory acceptance tests and in commissioning activities on site.

There is scope to add to or change some of responsibilities in line with the skills and development requirements of any individual, and considering the balance of skills within the project team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering Degree (Preferably Mechanical), or alternative qualification supplemented by field experience.

Experience of working within the oil, gas or chemical industry on an operating site

Experience of managing a team of maintenance staff. Experience of coaching and developing staff.

Experience of creating or using a maintenance management system to deliver the maintenance programme for the plant

Willing and able to be mobile in support of the project.

Demonstrable commitment to high HSSE standards.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of working with an engineering contractor on a major project.

Experience of participating in factory acceptance tests and commissioning of equipment.

Knowledge and experience of maintenance aspects of operational readiness, ideally gained through experience on a major project.

Experience of working in a multicultural environment ideally in Most of World location.
