The Company:
Our client, a major Oil & Gas Owner/Operator, is seeking expertise for their on going mega projects in Ft. MucMurray, Alberta.

The Role:
The Maintenance Planner will plan and prepare routine maintenance activities for efficient execution of maintenance for the project .

Responsibilities:
• Execute maintenance planning tasks in accordance with client processes.
• Review and analyze work orders ready for planning for correctness and adequacy.
• Manage planning backlog and interface with production area OMC (Operations Maintenance Coordinator) to define priorities as necessary.
• Ensure work order coding is accurately reflected in terms of equipment, priority, and financial coding.
• Prepare complete job plans for the efficient execution of corrective maintenance work. This involves: Conducting field visits to scope job requirements; Including HSE Requirements, Job Steps, Support Crafts Requirements, Materials, Fabrication Steps, Cost Estimate, Engineering and Inspection Requirements, and Operation requirements in plans.
• Initiate requisition of non stock items and for any external services required
• Check that planned work is within realistic completion dates.
• Submit Z6 notification as required
• Interfacing with the Scheduler, Analyst, and Maintenance and Operations Coordinators to determine work activities.
• Follow Maintenance procedure and practices (e.g. Refurbishment/repair process etc)
• Interfacing with Engineering and QA/QC group on incorporating requirements.
• Evaluate job feedback to improve future work and update library plans.
• Assist with Major Maintenance, pit stops, outages and plant changes planning activities as needed.
• Participate in Planner Trainings, Share and Learn department events.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Grade 12 Diploma
• Maintenance background (Technologist/ Trades Journeyman Certification).
• 3-5 years in a Planning or Scheduling position is desired, Experience in planning for multiple crafts
• Proficiency in SAP-Plant Maintenance or equivalent CMMS, MS Word and Excel
• Knowledge of maintenance business processes and best practices, roles of specific trades, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics and technical literature. Possesses a strong desire to acquire solid understanding of Operational and Maintenance activities of the assigned production unit.
• The individual must be a go-getter, displays independency from others and does not hesitate to go out in the field to acquire information as necessary.
• Capacity to lead and informally influence others in the organization to achieve optimal results
• Flexibility in managing changing priorities and ability to work with minimum supervision.
