The Role:
This position will be a critical part of of the initial design and implementation of a maintenance planning and scheduling system that conforms to the clients standards and world class best practices as part of a of an integrated maintenance and reliability team.

This position coordinates with other supervisors, managers and employees to ensure common purpose and direction regarding maintenance activities within the facility. The position is responsible for leading all maintenance planning activities and for monitoring and analyzing maintenance reports, work orders and history to optimize effective and efficient procedures, planning, and to direct scheduling activities. The position is responsible for maintaining all plans and procedures as well as all other documentation necessary for safe and proper performance of maintenance activities.

Accountabilities:

Audit and analyze systems within the area(s) of accountability to achieve the following outputs: Zero harm to employees, the business, the environment and the community, Achieve/exceed production quality and quantity targets while maximizing economic resource recovery, Achieve total product and unit cost, and capital expenditure targets.

Audit and analyze trends in safety (Against the Safe Production model), environment, production, cost and quality, as well as the consumption of resources. Develop and implement actions to address common cause variances or to take advantage of opportunities as they arise (with a focus on continuous improvement), while balancing the allocation of resources, meeting quantity and quality output requirements for the internal and/or external "Customers".

Lead and ensure Safe Production behaviours are exhibited by team members. Coach members on consistently achieving ALARA and take corrective action when necessary to address noncompliance.

Coordinate all maintenance planning for the facility and administrate and be responsible for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensure its accuracy.

Develop procedures as required and work to continuously improve Maintenance Planning policies and processes and ensure procedures are followed by all involved parties.

Supervise and assign work to Maintenance Planners, Maintenance Schedulers, and Clerks and ensure that all maintenance work is properly planned and scheduled.

Lead all shutdown planning, coordinate maintenance activities during shutdowns ensuring that all shutdown work is planned to achieve compliance with safety, schedule, and cost objectives and be the primary Maintenance Department authority during shutdowns.

Develop and update Maintenance Planning KPIs to assist in the prioritization and allocation of resources and personnel.

Interface with Engineering and Reliability personnel on a regular basis to ensure that equipment data, spares requirements, and procedures and documentation are modified as necessary as a result of additions, deletions or modifications to the plant processes or configuration.

Provide input on budget requirements for Maintenance Planning to the Maintenance Manager and provide regular reports on Maintenance Planning activities to the Maintenance Manager based on KPIs.

Perform regular audits of planned work packages to ensure that quality is maintained, ensuring that planned work order packages are designed to safely operate without impact to employees, the business, the environment, and the community, and provide feedback to Planners to ensure continuous improvement of the system.
Ensure that all work is completed through established Management of Change policies and procedures.

Contribute to the Succession Planning process and advise the Maintenance Manager on improving the capability of the team to meet future needs through selection and development.

Contribute to the implementation of new systems/processes and provide guidance, auditing, mentoring and analysis support to the management team. Perform Maintenance on-call duties on an assigned basis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Certification (CET Preferred)
8 - 10 years experience in maintenance planning and hands on technical maintenance work in a complex industrial environment.
