The Company:
The Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME) leads efforts for hand over and transition of all maintenance programs such as, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair activities of the Expanded Containment System. These responsibilities span both the onshore storage period of all equipment and the offshore periods where the equipment is deployed for a Member’s or Non-Member’s well incident or any planned or unplanned drill event.

The Role:

• Responsible for maintenance of all owned shore base assets, including all material handling equipment. Maintenance of leased equipment will also be the responsibility of the Maintenance Team.
• Lead the organization under HSE Management System and maintain strong ties to the HSE organization. Ensure all maintenance activities are planned, executed, and audited against the guiding principle that “no one gets hurt” and operations are conducted within high environmental standards.
• Work with the Training Supervisor to identify the training and competency needs of the Maintenance organization to perform all maintenance activities as well as evaluate necessary competency skills required in order to be prepared for incident response if required.
• Monitor the project’s development of the comprehensive PM program based on RCM principles. Include assessment of critical leased and mutual aid equipment, recommended PM needs, and establish a validation / KPI system to ensure equipment is maintained and inspected to guarantee their availability and reliability when needed.
• Validate that Maintenance procedures are in place (and develop where needed) to adequately reflect steps needed to safely inspect, service, and repair all equipment. Lead preparation of any new procedures or revisions of existing procedures. Monitor the project’s development of critical spares list and equipment inspection frequency.
• Maintain equipment warehouse needs and inspection of all equipment in owned and leased warehouses and 3rd party warehouses. Provide all Asset Control auditing functions per policies.
• Work with the Logistics & Procurement Supervisor to ensure all required contracts are established and remain valid. Ensure essential contractors capability and readiness via scheduled and unscheduled assessments and audits.
• Work closely with the Operational Readiness Operations Superintendent to be prepared to assume the Expanded System equipment as handed-over from the Project Team and full Expanded System handover at the end of the Operational Readiness Test (ORT). This preparation includes all equipment, documentation, functional skills needed to maintain and properly store all new equipment and coordinate on-going maintenance/preservation during the Project phase.
• Participate in dynamic and static functional tests and inspections as required by regulatory agencies and as dictated by PM program.
• Provide Maintenance staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence and support an open-door policy among all staff.
• Support and advise the Officers in decision making and other capacities as needed.


• Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
• Ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
• Bending legs downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
• Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrated strong RCM experience: ideally has worked in a senior maintenance role for 10+ years in a global offshore region with some experience managing subsea equipment.
• Previous experience in supervising a Pre-Operations maintenance team on a major capital project.
• Experienced in managing equipment handover, equipment preservation practices, establishment of PM processes and systems, and start-up operations.
• Previous maintenance and operations experience with process equipment, I&E equipment, and marine equipment (hoses, hawser). Experience with operation and maintain of a marine turret preferred.
• Experience in operational planning and emergency response coordination.
• Experienced in defect elimination processes and equipment criticality assessment practices.
