The Company:
Our Client is a leading global provider of technology solutions for the energy industry. This well renowned organistation designs, manufactures and services technologically sophisticated systems and products such as subsea production and processing systems, surface wellhead systems, high pressure fluid control equipment, measurement solutions, and marine loading systems for the oil and gas industry.

The Role:
RESPONSIBILITY:
• Provide comprehensive technical support in relation to engineering and operational activities associated with the refurbishment, maintenance and installation of FMC Technologies equipment.
• Where appropriate, process engineering information, under the control of FMC’s electronic data management system (TCE), working to current industry codes, contract specifications, FMC Operating Procedures and Global Work Instructions.

AUTHORITY:
• HSE – Contribute to decisions regarding Health and Safety of personnel, property and equipment during on and offshore operations

MAIN TASKS:
• Provide engineering advice and assistance directly to other FMC departments in relation to FMC equipment
• Present and discuss engineering proposals with internal stakeholders
• Raise internal and vendor non-conformance notifications as appropriate. Lead investigation and disposition of internal and vendor non-conformance reports
• Identify and implement preventative measures to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances
• Produce equipment procedures (FAT,TST,PSM,RRP)
• Verify designs using classical analysis techniques where appropriate. Analysis must be formalized in FMC’s standard product design documentation
• Prepare part reports specifying the necessary technical information for production of the part
• Prepare drawing packages to enable the creation of 2D and 3D design layouts
• Assist in development of more junior members of the department through technical mentoring
• Perform other general engineering or related activities that may be required.

MANDATORY SW-APPLICATIONS TO BE MANAGED : (e.g. SAP-roles)
• MS Office, SAP, MS Word, MS Excel, MathCAD
• Knowledge of Unigraphics or other drafting package

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Honors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
• Engineering problem solving aptitude
• Good understanding of manufacturing (machining, fabrication, welding) processes
• Innovative and autonomous worker requiring low levels of supervision
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, particularly and ability to negotiate with multiple stakeholders in difficult scenarios
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical and non-technical individuals using verbal and written mediums.
• Ability to build relationships with colleagues and contribute productively in team environments

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience in the oil & gas industry or similar technical environment. Operational experience is particularly valuable
• Experience with FMC equipment or similar competitor equipment
• Chartered engineer or evidence of working towards chartered status
• Experience of using SAP
