The Role:
The Maintenance Trainer will train staff through classroom and field instruction. Focusing training efforts for job specific certifications which will include training in preparation for the job specifics.

• Administer training to Maintenance/ Reliability personnel and others on maintenance tools, processes and procedures to meet skills development goals as required in the preparation of Commissioning & Start Up and Normal Operations.
• Support the development and verification of training plans, incorporating work process, electronic tools and discipline/job skills training.
• Support apprenticeship and/or OJT training programs as required.
• Help finalize, coordinate and deliver Vendor Training Program.
• Help finalize and coordinate on-site induction, plant specific training, skills verification, and on-site On-the-Job Training.
• Update training records.
• Conduct the training and arrange resources for site maintenance training requirements.
• Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor / manager.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead a team and strive for continuous improvement
• Initiates and leads change to improve performance and business result
• The Maintenance Trainer is a safety and compliance role model and leader
• Proactive promotes safety, seeks out “at risk” behaviour and conditions in an effort to achieve set goals
• Lead the certification effort to ensure compliance within operations team is maintained
• Ensure that training programs are compliant with industry standards

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Relevant technical qualification or time served apprenticeship
• Substantial experience with in trade
• Previous training & coaching experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong management skills
