The Role:
• To manage and direct all safety functions and activities in the various construction sites. Recruit, train and supervise specific construction site EHS leads. Responsible for all regulatory safety and Environmental permits . Manages and supervises all the contractors Safety plans and Emergency response plans. Makes sure that all regulatory and company safety policies are uniformly adhered by everyone at varies site
• Providing Company EHS requirements input in the design and enforces the EHS compliance at the construction sites
• In position as a safety, he makes sure the policy of zero harm is followed with no compromise.Responsible to provide the overarching support and guidance of the environmental, health and safety management systems for the project.
• Accountable to the Major Project Director, mentor, and manage the EHS personnel on the project site.
• Must have a clear understanding of resource requirements at site and home office, recruit and de-staff as required.
• Provide the leadership and mentorship to the on-site EHS team that includes all EHS resources from both company and Contractors/Service Providers. Accountable to ensure alignment between company and Contractor/Service Providers to manage common EHS goals and delivery.
• Develop EHS system strategies that focus on continuous improvement to deliver best in class safety performance.
• Manage the required effective interfaces with the Construction Management Team, Project Management Team, Corporate EHS and the onsite Contractors/Service Providers to establish and maintain quality EHS systems.
• Mange the site EHS leads ( Safety representatives) at the construction execution by ensuring that his representative are adequate trained, coached and supervised for the sit task. This task is to ensure both the personnel and the Contractors/Service Providers on site are meeting the EHS requirements of the required BC Regulators, Corporate EHS and the Site Specific values.
• Provide effective EHS coaching and stewardship to both the CMT and PMT on key EHS issues through EHS Summits, email communications and EHS performance management reporting. Includes working with the site constructors to develop tracking and reporting of Leading Indicators to track trends and allow for proper proactive mitigations to be implemented for the prevention of incidents.
• Provide the liaison resource or go to position for the BC EHS regulators with regards to project specific EHS issues, inspections, orders and communications.
• Manage the all onsite medical service contracts of each construction sites.
• Manage the EHS Assurance Plan reviews with each of the Contractors/Service Providers prior to their mobilization to site. This is required to ensure that the Contractor understands the EHS requirements and deliverables for the project prior to arriving on site.
• Provide onsite day to day EHS leadership supporting his site EHS leads
• Work with onsite contractor EHS personnel and management teams to ensure the contractor is effectively managing their EHS systems that meet or exceed the company and the regulatory requirements.
• Ensure contractor compliance with all applicable EHS laws and regulations.
• Support and mentor the management team and the general workforce with all applicable communications tools (Hazard ID, Positive Observation, JSA, Safe Work Permits, Ground Disturbance Permits, Confined Space Permits, etc.)
• Ensure that effective reporting and timely communication of all incidents is conducted throughout the company and the contractor organizations as applicable.
• Implement actions to correct reported or observed hazards, conditions or behaviors that are unacceptable.
• Develop, facilitate and coordinate site specific orientations for all new workers and contractors at site.
• Coordinate and meet with the site Emergency Response Team to ensure resources are available and provided to effectively perform high angle and confined space rescue as required.
• Provide resources and assist with the removal of barriers in the support and mentorship of the site EHS Leads.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree is preferred. Registration with EHS authorities in Alberta and British Colombia mandatory. Must have 15 years oil and gas process plant site EHS background. At least 5 years in the chief EHS Manager /Safety Marshal
• Extensive demonstrated experience in a crucial decision making in complex projects and business processes involving internal and external stakeholders in greenfield gas separation facility projects
• Proven interpersonal, communication, and team work skills
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate, lead and manage the job.
