The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
As a Manager Contracts for the Pipeline project you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of contracting strategies in line with the business plan.

The Manager Contracts will be responsible for ensuring the company obtain a commercial advantage through; managing expenditure, maintaining the company reputation and integrity, developing and delivering innovative contracting strategies and contractor relationships.

Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for managing a team, supporting C&P activities
• Accountable for the compilation, tendering, evaluation and execution of contracts required for the ongoing execution of Pipelines project (i.e. managing the contractual issues from initiation through post award)
• Responsible for ensuring all assigned contracts have adequate HSSE, audit, governance and quality control requirements to enable Managers to enforce to client standards
• May provide representation on the Clients Contracts and Tender Board
• Work with external suppliers to obtain a competitive price, appropriate delivery, quality products, and payment terms
• Manage internal C&P interfaces between stakeholders
• The identification of value adding opportunities
• Carry out analysis and provide guidance on contracts and procurement issues
• Negotiate with management of supplier and contractor organisations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree educated or equivalent (ideally Chartered with the Institute of Purchasing and Supply, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or similar) with C&P mastery in at least one of the three C&P disciplines within the Oil & Gas industry
• Substantial experience in contracts management for major offshore and onshore projects of significant magnitude and contractual complexity
• Experience in negotiating Contractual and Insurance Claims
• Requires a proven track record of delivery; will be acknowledged as having developed and managed a wide range of successful contracts in support of major projects in various environments and as having contributed to customers’ success
• Extensive knowledge of contract law and engineering

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience in developing, formulating, executing and administering contracts strategies and plans for different contract types including EPCM, lump sum EPIC, EPC, Unit Rate and reimbursable contracts in particular
•Proven C&P functional skills are desirable
• Working knowledge and understanding of Australia/Queensland supplier base capabilities, and effective commercial terms for contracting in local markets
