An LNG Terminal under construction in Louisiana

The Role:
Manager, Process Engineering (Lake Charles Area, Louisiana)

The Process Engineering Manager has responsibility supporting the day-to-day liquefaction, regasification, and ship loading/unloading process to include process troubleshooting, process efficiency, and process improvements for the entire LNG Terminal. This position will also manage a team of several Process Engineers, Process Safety Management function (PSM), Contract Laboratory Services, and the APCI Services Agreement. The Process Engineering Manager will report to the VP Engineering.

•Responsible for continuous support to ensure efficient process operation of the facility to include but not limited to gas turbines, boilers, compressors, HVAC, instrumentation, pumps, piping, process control, utilities, etc.).
•Provides directional, technical, process design and engineering support for the entire facility. Works daily with Operations Department to troubleshoot problems as they occur.
•Develop and present plant process improvement projects. Submit these improvement projects for review with the Maintenance & Engineering Dept and follow process through to AFE approval. This will involve scope development, cost estimates, and could include interaction and use of consultants. Co-ordinate with internal and external engineering in all operational projects and new developments, from conception to completion in line with budgets and on time scheduling
•Develop and manage budgets and schedules to meet financial targets with an understanding of the corporation’s accounting and procurement procedures and guidelines and abides by them.
•Manages the PSM (Process Safety Management) process. This will require adherence to the MOC (Management of Change) process, auditing of the process both internally and 3rd party auditing. Must maintain our PSM certification.
•Manages the contracted services of the laboratory. This will require strict adherence to the ISO process.
•Manages the contracted services of the APCI service agreement.
•Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

•Minimum of 10 years of process engineering with at least 2 years of experience in a similar position of responsibility and expertise in an operating LNG Liquefaction facility of similar magnitude and design.
•Experienced in administration of personnel issues;
•Broad knowledge of budgeting, planning, scheduling, and process design;
•High level of HSE knowledge;
•Good personnel management, interpersonal skills, communications & organizational skills are essential;
•Good working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management);
•Good working knowledge ISOs 9001, 14001, 17025 and 18001.

•Appreciation of regulatory, industrial, and engineering environments;

•Sound knowledge of process engineering design;
•Strong leadership skills;
•Ability to effectively lead, delegate and motivate;
•Strong interpersonal skills;
•Ability to create a strong team environment;
•Strong communication skills;
•Ability to communicate fluently in English;
