The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a “Manufacturing Change Engineer” to manage and lead our engineering change process. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for driving forward continuous improvement initiatives, identifying improvement opportunities, reducing operational costs whilst increasing productivity, quality & efficiency via Lean Manufacturing principles. With experience of managing or coordinating business improvement projects & acting as a change agent using technical & lean tools to deliver operational progression, the successful candidate will also:

Manage and lead production for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Change Management activities both internally and with external customers.
Assess customer drawings requesting changes for feasibility and manage project
Establish viable concepts to bring about these changes
Develop quotations and lead times and agree with our customers
Manage the change into the production processes within budget
Manage the internally generated changes
To lead change activities with a view to improve the efficiency of our manufacturing processes on site utilising appropriate improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, 5S, 7C, Six Sigma).
Lead and develop additional internal projects such as press tool improvement Champion shop floor six-sigma programs and initiatives. Establish and implement six sigma standards throughout the manufacturing facility and drive compliance and adherence to these standards.
Ensure compliance with all projects with regard to Safety, Health & Environmental S.H.E.

Applications are invited from candidates with the following skills and experience:

Experience of production process improvement, six-sigma principles and techniques. Experience of generating manufacturing documentation in support of detailed pressing and robot/ped welding activities, e.g. Project management, engineering change, work instructions etc.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both internal and external customers. Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
Demonstrates energy and a desire to succeed.
Proven technical engineering background with strong commercial understanding Demonstrable ability to negotiate, influence & inspire at all levels, from the shop floor to the boardroom.
Demonstrable motivation and determination to make a real difference to the business.
Have a structured approach with strong attention to detail
Ability to interpret customer drawings and develop plans from these
