The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Body Construction. Midlands sites. The department is currently involved with introduction of all new bodyshop projects and changes to existing facilities to support the cycle plan. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Department Manager and/or Programme Manager within your allocated project area the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
1. The design and development of Body in White processes, tooling and equipment for both new and model year programme actions.
2. Management of and liaison with key suppliers.
3. To assist the departmental Department Manager and/or Programme Manager with all aspects of programme activities - such as process / manufacturing system design and development, the organising and running of design reviews and problem solving.
4. To support the Manufacturing teams with Hours per car and cost reduction activities as required.
5. To promote efficient departmental development actions and process improvements
6. Lead the development of Bodyshop Process concepts in line with Bill of Process for BIW
7. Take lead engineer responsibility for a small team of engineers, and ensure the objectives and deliverables assigned and agreed by the team are met.
8. Work with Product Development to ensure Feasible joining solutions for all Joints.
9. Support Module Meetings/PMST to ensure cross functional working with Stamping, DMBI.
10. Maximise equipment usage for achievement of project Capital Investment target.
11. Develop Process solutions to meet Hrs/car target maximise operator efficiency by load window
12. Develop process concept to meet Volume aspirations including buffer, technical availability over speeds and Takt time to support financial planning volumes.
13. Support Virtual series milestones to deliver feasible concepts

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of vehicle body assembly process development, joining technologies and body assembly equipment including tooling, automation and robotics is essential.
You will also possess relevant project control skills with strong communication & negotiation skills.
Evidence of an innovative approach to technical problem solving and process development.
The ability to recognise the value of, and employ best-in-class processes wherever practicable.
The ability to work with financial information with technical decision-making.
The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary teams in the pursuit of complex technical solutions and commissioning issues.
Body In White manufacturing process deveolpment with proven ability to supervise a small team.
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
However, consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate exceptional, relevant expertise and experience in a Manufacturing Body Construction environment

Process Designer, Vis Mock Up
Automotive Body in White production experience
Experience of processing self pierce rivetting / adhesive bonding
