The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Required to manage Body Construction joining technologies with robust control and operating systems; scope includes fusion welding (spot, projection and laser), riveting and sealer / adhesive systems Report to Body Construction, Maintenance Manager Accountable to develop and operate overall control systems for joining technologies to guarantee zone control within Body Construction, whilst delivering progressive reliability improvements over time.

Skills Required:
Fully assimilate product and process design requirements and established standards, offering process expertise in a Simultaneous Engineering phase to refine the level of Design for Assembly Define, source and deploy an overall training package to facilitate knowledge transfer from upstream areas to operational, maintenance and other support areas Manage introduction of required pre-launch plan control plan characteristics; create a measurement and analysis structure and cadence which delivers data-driven development, improvement & ongoing control Benchmark appropriate processes from common and adjacent processes including other plants and Tier 1 suppliers plus take advice on technology trends through industry bodies, e.g Welding Institute Refine maintainability plan to optimise operating costs

Skills Preferred:
Graduate Engineer in appropriate mechanical engineering subject including dimensional & static mechanics, material engineering

Experience Required:
Strong industry experience of design and control methods for joining systems including fusion methods and other mechanical joining systems

Experience Preferred:
Project management experience with proven track record of time plan achievement and counter-measure development. Working experience of industry standard failure mode avoidance, risk management and problem solving tools and techniques Positive experience of leading cross-functional teams

Education Required:
Degree in relevant subject
