The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
BIW Discrete Event Simulation Engineer with experience in DE simulation models. The role will be responsible for the developing, proving and optimising the BIW Layouts and Process for a number of client models produced at UK and International Plants. Keys responsibilities will be as follows: (1) Manage / develop the client DES Simulation model. (2) Evaluate and challenge the vendors DES models and documentation against the client DES specification. (3) Optimisation of the Model against different model derivative mixes and operational parameters. (4) Simulate 'what ifs' as defined be the L538 AME team and plant. (5) Report out the results to the L538 AME team and plant.
General Body shop PPE required i.e. safety glasses, safety boots, high visibility jacket, hard hat, overalls, etc. GB03LMU078 Halewood or Castle Bromwich

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The applicant should match a high proportion of the following skills criteria: (1) A flexible, self motivated and confident team player. (2) Able to generate / modify Technomatix' s (Siemens) Plant v7.6 Simulation Software. (3) Ability to build and interrogate DES models. (4) Able to understand the needs, desires and aspirations of AME customers. (5) Knowledge on how the all BIW Body shop equipment operates and how to replicate this in DES environment. (6) Able to communicate effectively to all levels of the business and with external partners (7) Ability to use windows Microsoft based computer package systems such as, excel, word, PowerPoint, etc. (8) Ability to setup and run effective meetings & buy off events with cross functional team members (9) Ability to optimise the DES Model analysing the results to find and solve bottlenecks against the projects cost, process and layout constraints.

Additional Personal Characteristics (1) Ability to work in a fast moving/changing environment. (2) Flexible in both working location (All client Sites) and in time. (3) Understanding on how machine sections operate and how technical availability figures are constructed and applied. (4) Knowledge of Vehicle derivative sequencing and lean Body shop production philosophy and terminology
Additional beneficial experience would be: (1) An understanding of Bodyshop processes and equipment. (2) A working knowledge of JLR processes and in house practices.
