The Role:
Main Purpose of the Role

The Pre-Series Centre Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Manufacturing Feasibility is evaluated in line with PEP010 and APQP activities are carried out in line BPS 1.1.2.1.
Manufacturing Feasibility issues to be presented and agreed cross functionally and the product style and design influenced to support manufacturing functional deliverables.
APQP activities to be carries out in parallel to Manufacturing Feasibility tasks and their output used to influence style and design where appropriate. As the APQP deliverables are developed through pre-production builds, the Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer must ensure customer engagement and agreement in readiness for project handover.

Scope of the Role

- Analysis of complex system assembly feasibility on future programmes for BYxxx projects.
- Design, development and introduction of assembly Process on future programmes for BYxxx projects.
- Identification of jigs, fixtures and tooling requirement on future programmes for BYxxx
- Identification and development of best practice principles within industry and associated industries.

Qualifications & Experience

- HNC/Degree qualification or equivalent in Manufacturing, Engineering or Science related subject.
- German speaking would be preferable.
- Member of related professional institute would be preferable.
- Willingness to travel to support business needs.
- Automotive industry experience within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment (similar experience within associated industries considered).
- Recent Graduate with Industrial Placement experience/
- Strong working knowledge of component design, manufacture and assembly techniques.
- Strong working knowledge of design for assembly principles including lean manufacturing techniques.
- Strong working knowledge of APQP activities.
- Logical and structured approach to problem identification and resolution.
- Appreciation of Catia V5 and Virtual Build tools.
- Appreciation of measurement techniques/
- Appreciation of dimensional management analysis.
