The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
Role Outline
To ensure that systems/processes necessary to deliver the clients' products to the marketplace are maintained and delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost effective manner. This role will include management responsibility for manufacturing output, customer satisfaction, ethical focus & integrity and will exceed H&S requirements.

Main Responsibilities
-To support production management in their daily tasks in respect of cost, quality and delivery.
-To ensure productivity levels continue to rise through introduction of appropriate best practice & automation.
-To promote a continuous improvement culture and identify/drive improvements in manufacturing processes and procedures.
-To drive through cost reduction initiatives, including design for manufacture.
- To promote lean manufacturing concept/techniques and champion series of projects aimed at improving manufacturing performance.
-Support New Product Introduction (NPI) as part of cross functional team and will successfully deliver the transition of designs into production.
-Support Sales/Order Entry teams through the process of contract review and order acknowledgment.
-Set and manage performance targets for direct reports.
-Ensure that manufacturing plans are delivered to budget.
-Support the maintenance and development of ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Systems.
-Support QHSE programmes and requirements.
-Contribute to the development of the business to deliver stable products and processes.
-Allocate labour resource, manage labour budget and ensure that cross training is achieved across area of responsibility.
-Develop and monitor KPIs for the team and drive year on year improvements to meet targets.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-Degree Qualified (in Manufacturing or Engineering subject) or HNC/HND
- Experience of managing manufacturing processes/teams/Flowlines (3 years experience required).
-Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
-Change management experience.
-Energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
-Good people skills.
-Experience of managing lean manufacturing initiatives in a low or medium volume environment.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
-Lean/Six Sigma certification will be an advantage.
-IOSH Managing Safely will be an advantage.
-Experience of manufacture of electromagnetic products or electrochemical products.
-Knowledge of SAP
-Process improvement experience on the shop floor.
