The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Tooling Engineer Reporting to the Die Engineering Manager, the Tooling Engineer will take responsibility for a module of stamped parts, delivery tooling from our global supply base. The engineer will support a process handover from the Feasibility Team before going on to manage the nominated supplier to deliver press tooling and stamped parts to meet project cost, time and quality aspirations, before achieving successful handover to the Plant. Activities in the supplier include conducting technical reviews (buy-offs), administering the introduction of engineering change, managing the achievement of Body build plans, resolving technical issues/conflicts and regular project reporting. Once tooling is delivered to the Plant, tooling and stamped part customer sign-off must be achieved. The role demands building and maintaining close working relationships with project managers, the press shop team, the build-integrity team as well as suppliers. The module content may require the D-Grade engineer to supervise the delivery of a C-Grade engineer.

Skills Required:
Proven Press Tooling experience in either manufacture, try-out, launch or programme delivery. Ability to work with Stamping Plant to deliver commissioning plan. Ability to manage toolmakers through tool commissioning to full part sign-off. Able to ensure delivery of parts to dimensional and cosmetic targets. Able to work with BIW and Dimensional Management customers to meet quality aspirations Capable of providing technical support on resolution of process, design, manufacture and try-out issues.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate will possess experience in a Stamping Engineering type role, with proven Press Tool process/design/manufacture and/or try-out.
