The Company:
an Oil Services Company is seeking a Marine Assurance and Engineering Specialist

The Role:
• Provide marine assurance and engineering support to other groups in the Company Business Unit including Projects, Assets, Offshore/Onshore/Well Operations, Commercial, Logistics, and Legal.
• Manage contracts for Marine Warranty Survey/Inspection and Class Societies (ABS and BKI)
• Interface with Government of Indonesia organizations such as SKK Migas and SeaComm regarding marine matters.
• Ensure time chartered or call out vessels are vetted in compliance with Global Marine Assurance standards and local regulations.
• Provide technical support and advice regarding marine systems for FPSO and FSOs.
• Ensure operational practices on owned or chartered vessels meets Global Marine and Company Standards.
• Support Onshore/Offshore/Well Operations and Logistics with technical evaluation of vessels during tendering process.
• Develop scope of work for vessels and assist in strategic planning of marine fleet including on and offshore support vessels.
• Provide project support for conversion of vessels or other major work.
• Liaise with the Houston, Singapore, and European Global Vetting staff to ensure timely approval of vessels, notification of marine incidents, etc.
• Provide Lead Investigator for marine incident investigation (RCA) and follow up corrective actions.
• Inspect FSOs and Storage Tanker as needed to develop justification for expenditures on maintenance or other needs.
• Advise On and Offshore Operations on staffing of vessels for both Company and Contractor personnel.
• Develop and maintain all marine positions within Company
• Maintain budget and cost control for inspection, engineering, marine warranty survey, Class inspection, terminal permitting, etc.
• Review mooring plans for approval of spread moored drilling rigs, accommodation vessels, or other special vessels in Company fields.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience in a wide range of naval architect, marine engineering, and operations jobs which may include
ship structural design, stability, mooring analysis and machinery plant/piping/electrical system design.
• Strong working knowledge of Class and IMO rules and regulations.
• Knowledge on the Indonesian flagging process
• Experience with AutoCad and naval architecture software such as MOSES/OrcaFlex/ARINC
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team on multiple projects to changing deadlines
and within defined budgets;
• Have experience with marine facilities such as FSOs, FPSOs, SPM/CALM buoys, subsea pipelines, PLEMs, wells, etc.
• Experience with vessels such as DSVs, Semisubs, and Jack-up Drilling Rigs, DP vessels, Multi-purpose vessels,
• Transportation and oil barges, AHTS vessels, harbor tugs, coastal freighters, coastal and large tankers, etc.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Ocean Engineering from an accredited university.
• Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer or other Senior Officer position
• 10 years of experience with a design firm, ship operator, shipyard, independent surveyor company, or Classification Society in a technical position involving vessel operations, inspection, repair, maintenance, construction, survey, design, conversion, etc
• Familiar with Government Regulations and International Codes including Cabotage Laws, IMO, SOLAS, STCW, etc.
• Familiar with IMCA, API, OGP, OCIMF and similar industry guidelines and recommendations.
• Familiar with various Class Society Rules including construction and survey requirements.
• Having a good relationship and networking with Government Institution (SKKMIGAS, MIGAS,
Seacomm, etc.)
• Physical ability to work aboard ships and in shipyards including climbing
