The Company:
An international Oil and Gas Operator

The Role:
A key requirement of this role is to positively influence, guide and help Gupco staff over which there is no line management authority, in order to promote compliance the Company’s Safety, Operational and Risk agenda. The accountabilities of the Marine Assurance Superintendent are thus wide, varied, and reporting to the Marine Team leader will include:
Harbour and Marine Terminal Management
Vessel Deployment in Support of GOS activity and Inter-Functional Relationships
Vessel Pre-hire Inspections and Audits specific to IMCA CMID
Vessel Mid Term Inspections And Audits
Marine Assurance for Tanker Operations
Field Stand By Operations and Navigational Assurance Vessel deployment
Marine Procedures & Bridging Documents
Maritime Standards Assurance
Marine Equipment Maintenance
Daily Marine Report Input
Marine Strategy Input
Marine Division Competency Assurance
Marine Related Incident Investigations
Anchor Pattern Definition
Emergency Response
Marine KPIs and Contractor Management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Marine management experience, including marine assurance and operational experience, commensurate with demonstrable technical and leadership competence to an expert level.
Minimum Class 1 or 2 (Deck) Certificate of Competency having sailed in a senior rank afloat.
Functional marine expertise in tanker operations and offshore vessels.
Shore experience in the following areas:
- Implementation of Marine legislation
-Client's Group standards – GMS, Code of conduct, gHSEr, OMS, Golden Rules, Shore Interface Minimum Standard.
- Marine vessel Auditing
- Able to make independent judgments and provide recommendations and solutions
- Strong inter-personal skills with ability to relate to and engage a diverse range of individuals
- Consultancy/Advisory Skills
- Preparation of procedures and working practices and document control
- Emergency response with regards to Marine activities

A strong marine technical and operations background is essential, along with a convincing track-recor

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A high-calibre person capable of delivering performance in all areas of production-efficiency, operations-integrity, emergency-management, and people-development. Previous marine operational experience in tanker terminals and marine terminal auditing.
