The Company:
Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
Direction Received:
Reporting to the Marine Crossings Team Cable Supply and Design Lead, the incumbent will be provided with supervision and direction.

Direction Exercised:
This position will not have subordinates.

Summary of Job Function:

The incumbent will work within the Marine Crossings Team and support the execution of the High Voltage Dirrect Current (HVDC) cable system design and supply scope and the fibre optic telecommunications marine crossing of the Strait of Belle Isle for the Project, and perform project engineering duties in support of other MCT scopes as required.
In addition, the incumbent will assist in representing Client's interests during the development and execution of the Project.

Principal Activities, Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

- Support the delivery of the HVDC cable system including design engineering, manufacturing, supply, testing and pre-commissioning.
- Support the delivery of the fibre optic system including design engineering, manufacturing, supply, testing and pre-commissioning.
- Support the execution of key interfaces as they relate to cable system installation, protection and landfall;
- Support the execution of key interfaces as relating to the power transmission and fibre optic systems, HVDC specialties and EPCM contractor;
- Provide onsite company representation at vendor engineering offices, manufacturing facilities and worksites as required.
- Perform project engineering duties pertaining to Marine Crossings' deliverables;
- Undertake discrete scopes of work for all Marine Crossings Team components;
- Participate in design, constructability and operability reviews;
- Participate in risk workshops and risk management activities;
- Support the input and closeout of quality audit, qualification and surveillance processes;
- Support schedule development and progress reporting;
- Documentation review.

- Cable Protection and Installation Engineers, Landfall Engineers, HSE, Quality,Commercial, Document Control, Planning and scheduling,

Key External Interfaces
- HVDC cable supply and installation contractor(s), Fibre optic system supply and installation contractors(s); EPC contractor; and other 3rd party contractors or consultants.

EXPERIENCE:
• Graduate engineer with 0-3 years successful experience related to the execution of major projects;
• Marine installations project experience, preferably, in East Coast Canada marine environments, with
focus on seabed infrastructure installations;
• Prior experience or knowledge and understanding of high voltage cable systems, flexible flowlines,
control jumpers, or umbilical design and manufacturing;
• Prior experience or knowledge and understanding of fiber optic telecommunications cable design and
manufacturing;
• Prior experience interfacing with consulting engineering companies and external contractors;
• Prior experience with industrial product manufacturing processes including Quality systems, ITP's,
NCR's, product testing, and manufacturer/vendor performance;
• Understanding of engineering processes and management systems; and
• Experienced with the resolution of technical issues during projects' planning and execution phases;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience:

• Graduate engineer with 0-3 years successful experience related to the execution of major projects.
• Marine installations project experience, preferably, in East Coast Canada marine environments, with focus on seabed infrastructure installations.
• Prior experience or knowledge and understanding of high voltage cable systems, flexible flowlines, control jumpers, or umbilical design and manufacturing.
• Prior experience or knowledge and understanding of fiber optic telecommunications cable design and manufacturing.
• Prior experience interfacing with consulting engineering companies and external contractors;
• Prior experience with industrial product manufacturing processes including Quality systems, ITP's, NCR's, product testing, and manufacturer/vendor performance;
• Understanding of engineering processes and management systems.
