The Role:
• The Marine Coordinator will report to the COMOPS Manager and look after the day to day activities associated with the mobilisation and coordination/logistics for the offshore marine construction and installation vessel spread.

• Activities
• To assist the COMOPS Manager in the coordination of offshore vessel activities in order to ensure that operations are carried out safely and with minimum impact on schedule and budget.
• To ensure that all HAZOPs, HIRAs and other risk assessments are carried out and the associated recommendations are implemented before the start of the offshore operations.
• To ensure that all marine vessels are mobilised in strict accordance with COMPANY procedures and UKCS legislation. To manage the mobilisation of the Marine Warranty Surveyor, when required.
• To manage the rota for all offshore COMPANY personnel to ensure that sufficient resources are available to support the offshore operations.
• For all pipeline crossing and proximity agreements, to ensure that COMPANY obligations under the agreements are carried out e.g. the provision of pre and post lay survey data to the relevant pipeline operator.
• To build a centre of marine expertise, thereby ensuring that all the marine vessels are mobilised in accordance with COMPANY regulations and the appropriate UKCS legislation and that the relevant documentation and procedures are approved and in place.
• To liase with the Marine Operations Superintendent (TS/LOG/MAR) to ensure that all the activities of the marine vessels are carried out in accordance with the relevant COMPANY GS, Company Management System (CMS) and other related procedures.
• To attend and, in the absence of the COMOPS Manager, to chair regular marine vessel coordination meetings and circulate the related MoM to ensure that all relevant parties understand and are in agreement with the scheduled vessel movements and priorities. To ensure that the Integrated Vessel Movement Schedule is kept up to date and issued to all interested parties on a regular basis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The post holder will be ideally qualified to degree level with extensive experience of marine operations in the UKCS environment working as a Marine Representative for a North Sea operator :
1. Competency as a Master Mariner.
2. Thorough knowledge of industry risk assessment techniques and ability to organise and participate in HAZOP, HAZID, HAZAN and other reviews.
3. Preparation of procedures and specifications relating to vessel activities (including mobilisation, scheduling and demobilisation).
4. Able to demonstrate a clear commitment to Safety and Environmental best practices.
5. Be in possession of BOSIET, Medical and MIST for occasional offshore visits.
