The Company:
Our client has been engaged in the exploration and production of natural gas in the Netherlands and the North Sea Continental Shelf since 1964. In the Dutch sector of the North Sea, gas is produced from 22 platforms and 3 subsea production installations. Most of the platforms are unmanned and remotely operated; four have gas treatment facilities.

The Role:
The Marine Coordinator reports to the Section head Logistics. The jobholder advises internal customers (Production, Drilling, Construction and Geosciences) for all marine related matters.


• Specify the technical needs of the Marine Logistical structure according to the required operations and ensures the quality of supply vessels used in the SNS Pool fleet or
• Study, produce and introduce the operational and safety procedures with respect to Marine Operations, internally as well as within the SNS Pool fleet and initiate
improvement plans;
• Check the implementation of the Marine Operations structure, conduct technical audits (affiliates, contractors, service providers) and initiates and/or executes inspections
on the vessels operating in the field, against the procedures and/or met rules;
• Ensure thorough follow up all Incident/Accident and Non Conformance reports related to marine activities;
• Provides weather forecast to all departments, gives advice and additional interpretation if and when required;
• Prepares, in consultation with internal customer and contractor, the rig moves with the required procedures;
• Ensure in the rig move meeting with the internal customer and the contractor that the correct procedures are followed and the company assets are protected in accordance
with the TOTAL Group rules;
• Order tugs, personnel and equipment, required for the rig moves, based on market availability, the available weather windows and the approved rig move procedures;
• Order standby vessels required for the locations and executes periodically HSE inspections on the standby vessel supplier;
• To work closely with the logistical coordinators and capable to take over their tasks in case of absence of one of the coordinators.


The jobholder is focussed on assuring the Marine part of the Logistics process within the SNS Pool. Delays in the supply process could have a significant impact on Production and Drilling. The “optimum” balance between the costs and the availability of the logistics means requires a strong and independent person in such a position.
The rig move function is considered an operational job, where the jobholder takes the lead and has the responsibility to arrange all details for the rig move, in which he assures a safe and efficient execution of the job.

The jobholder is accountable for the Marine activities. The specific elements of supply activities and/or rig moves are indispensable related to an operational experience with vessels, tides, current, waves and wind. The experience with the dynamics between the static platform and the moving vessel or jack up is required for a good understanding and a proper judgement for the required marine activities. Mistakes and/or delays in the logistical operation can result in a significant increase in costs for the offshore activities ongoing.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Initial formal education / diplomas : Maritime officer, Nautical College HBO level.
• At least 5 years experience in Marine related functions, preferable in oil & gas industry. 3 years experience as Master or 1st officer on offshore vessels.
• Conversant with applicable Marine rules and regulations for subject activities.
• Good knowledge of various computer programs such as MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
