The Company:
An international EPC Company involved in LNG and Mining Projects.

The Role:
As the Marine Emergency Response Adviser, is a key member of the BWI HESQ Emergency Response capability and must possess the skills to provide strategic leadership and direction to address the Emergency Response issues that are within the marine environment.
The role includes the provision of specialist and technical emergency advice and guidance, ensures emergency resources are effectively utilized, ensures that emergency assurance programs remain effective. Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Development and implementation of Project Emergency Response plans and procedures under the direction of the Emergency and Security Manager and Emergency Superintendent.
• Develop and write Emergency Response Systems, Procedures and Programs. Manage Emergency Response aspects within the marine environment.
• Take command and control of emergency situations as on scene commander within the marine environment.
• Facilitate the development, planning and Implementation of the Company ER system for construction.
• Manage the Implementation, operation and review the relevant crisis and emergency response for the project emergency management system.
• Manage relevant HSS communications process as per the Project HSS Management System
• Manage compliance In-line with the audit and Inspection program of the Company and contractors.
• Provide advice to Company and Contractor Managers and Supervision on ER aspects of the project HSS management systems.
• Ensure all scheduled Project ER Company and Contractor audits and Inspections area performed and actions addresslcloseout in a timely manner.
• Plan and ensure project ER training and competency processes are Implemented and maintained in accordance with Project and contract HSS and ER requirements for all personnel.
• Develop and implement ER initiatives to continually improve, achieve and maintain stated HSS performance and objectives.
• Ensure the reporting and documentation of incidents I injuries are Investigated and records maintained.
• Compile reports to the management as &ected.
• Undertake a direct report responsiIity to the Emergency & Security Manager Line Management.
• Interface with the Project management team and CVX in implementing the Project ER Systems.
• Document and report any aspect of non-compliance to the agreed strategies poticies and directives issued and to initiate preventative actions as required. Stop work on work-sites if required.
• Maintain effective and timely communication with relevant stakeholders such as the Emergency 8 Security Manager, Emergency Superintendent, BWI HESO Execution Manager, BWI PlC. and all Project Emergency Response 8 Emergency Management key stakeholders

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years experience as a operational fire fighter, or military fire fighter
• Minimum 3 years in an operational advisory role with excellent knowledge in legislative and statutory requirements
• Effective coaching & mentoring skills:can understand and articulate performance expectations, and can effectively communicate to project personnel at all levels across the organizational charts
• Minimum five years experience with Heavy Construction and I or Marine Operations.
• Oil and gas or mining site based experience in emergency response.
• Extensive organizational skills:possesses initiative to manage a diverse workload of changing project priorities and the ability to maintain continuity in times of organizational change
• Ability to assess information/data and take action, including briefing to senior management
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills: capability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels-both internal and extern

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience in site based OccupationalHealth and Safety systems.
• Certificate IV in Fire Fighting Supervision.
• Experience with remote site management systems.
• Sound understanding of SOLAS Xl-1 & 2 for ISPS code
• Sound understanding and application of the DOTARS and ISPS code requirements as they apply to the oil & gas industry
• Experience and a demonstrated knowledge Oil Spill and accredited qualifications
• Strong communication, relationship building, and problem solving skills
