The Company:
A Global leader in offshore engineering is looking for a Marine Engineer to work in their onshore support office, providing full technical support for Thruster and Engine maintenance and engineering activities.

The Role:
The Marine Engineer will be the technical specialist advisor for all assets specifically focused on thruster and engine related activities as well as possessing a general knowledge of all marine equipment and systems. The person will be required to liaise with the Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM), and to interface between the Marine Technical Support Engineers and Vessel Superintendent.

As a Marine Engineer your main duties will involve:

• Be the point of contact onshore for thruster & engine technical queries and support across the fleet.
• Interface between the OEM and equipment service engineers offshore.
• Interface between Class Society and authorities in the regions.
• Ensure preventive maintenance policies are in place and support marine crew in ensuring that they are implemented.
• Preparing refits for dockings and maintenance stops, following up these in close liaison with the responsible Project Manager or Vessel Superintendent onboard the ship.
• Liaising with external contractors when reviewing/optimising maintenance regimes.
• Liaising with Buyers and Logistics to ensure spare parts requisitions to prevent downtime.
• Keeping abreast of legislation affecting thruster and engine equipment and provide technical advice as requested ensuring compliance.
• Ensuring best practices are in place to continue or extend life within thruster & engine equipment, advising on new equipment to extend maintenance service intervals and introduce preventative regimes.
• Involvement as required to assist Vessel Superintendent on marine / vessel related systems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A relevant Mechanical Diploma or Degree or equivalent Sea Going Engineering qualification.
• Experience within a Marine Engineer position ideally or at 1st or 2nd Engineer level is essential.
