The Role:
•Monitor and assist ship owner to oversee Dubai Dry-dock’s execution of fabrication, construction, hookup, mechanical completion and commissioning associated with the conversion and modification of two Aframax tankers
•Keep site management informed of work status, initiatives, issues, and challenges
•Coordinate interfaces and interactions with contractor and subcontractors for specific discipline
•Coordinate input from reviews and verification activities from support functions, such as discipline engineers, quality engineers, and contractor site engineers
•Promote safety awareness and safe performance among project team members, including consultants and contractor personnel
•Review and provide input to development of contractor’s detailed plans and procedures to complete the work scope
•Review deliverables for quality, conformance to contract requirements, and consistency with other work products
•Verify work is completed in accordance with plans, procedures, and project specifications
•Recommend corrective actions where deficiencies are uncovered in contractor’s performance; verify that corrective actions are taken
•Facilitate resolution of technical issues and queries within the specific discipline(s); interpret the technical Specification in cases where it may be ambiguous, incomplete, or contradictory
•Participate in mechanical completion punch-listing and documentation and assist site inspector(s) in performing “witness” and “hold” points, as needed
•Participate in &/or observe and confirm equipment and system commissioning, as needed.
•Assist in contract administration, as requested
•Apply lessons learned from previous projects and participate in lessons learned reviews
•Verify as-built/as-installed documentation is properly maintained for specific discipline(s)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum 30 years related experience
•Marine Chief Engineer or First Assistant Engineer
•Experience in Shipyard repairs and/or conversions
