The Company:
Our Client is an Oil and gas operator who operations though out the world. This role will be working within the Shipping Arm of my client’s business

The Role:
The Marine Engineer Technical Authority will sit in my client shipping business and the person will act as a primary source for support. Further more they have to set procedures and best practices standards for the whole shipping arm. They will also review any changes to their shipping fleet and measure risk before giving a verdict.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities;

- Act as a primary source of technical advise to the Engineering Authority and Engineers on board the ships and the onshore supporting staff.
- Advise on maintenance and inspection frequency and techniques.
- Advise on the use of standards, practise and design guidelines.
- Identify technical Risk including being involved in the Technical management of change approval of deviations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Marine Engineer or equivalent maritime qualification.
- Chartered engineer or class 1 certificate
- Knowledge of fleet operations
- Strong understanding of current legislation and shipping best practice.
- Previous exposure reviewing and advising on technical risk
- Commercially aware
