The Role:
Marine Mechanical Engineer will provide expert discipline advice and expertise to offshore and onshore teams to ensure excellent maintenance performance.

Accountabilities

• Co-ordination and delivery of all Marine and Mechanical maintenance projects on the Asset in support of business objectives of producing Hydrocarbons in a safe and cost effective manner
• Assist the Mechanical engineer with day to day mechanical and Marine engineering support for the Asset teams offshore and onshore
• Ensure the quality of Marine/Mechanical engineering deliverables are compliant with current and future offshore legislation, agreements, regulatory and company standards
• Perform as mechanical competent person appointed by the appropriate Technical Authority

Key Duties

• Comply with HSE principles, policies and procedures
• Role model for safe and environmentally responsible behaviors
• Review planned maintenance routines and carry out optimization studies within the Marine and Mechanical disciplines to minimize the cost of maintenance whilst retaining an acceptable level of plant and equipment
• Provide support on Marine/Mechanical maintenance and certification activities, advising on proposed modifications to facilities
• Ensure that all appropriate Marine and Mechanical maintenance and technical records including plant history are updated as required using Maximo
• Review the types of stock holding levels of Marine/Mechanical equipment held as spare parts, and optimize the inventory, stock management and co-ordination of the ordering of spares
• Manage and execute all daily actions from the installations to ensure that priorities will be achieved
• Support daily TMAX (WORM) Meeting, work order performance, prioritisation review with Maintenance & Operations teams
• Ensure critical maintenance activities are accurately reflected in asset plans
• Ensure the use of subcontractors is managed and delivers value to the operation
• Monitor and report on progress and effectiveness
• Support integrated planning process to minimise plant downtime and optimise resources to ensure the completion of critical and breakdown maintenance activities
• Participate in the AFA process and provide technical and planning expertise to ensure modifications are implemented on time and within budget
• Manage allocated operations Maintenance budget effectively with minimum waste
• Ensure shutdown related activity and all Pre/Post related shutdown activities are supported and prioritized ensuring maximum efficiency
• Actively work to reduce and manage Marine/Maintenance backlogs
• Ensure effective and timely close out of Synergi and ICP actions.
• Conduct periodic site reviews/audits.
• Participate in regular performance management dialogues with AIL.
• Review and comment when necessary on technical documents produced by Vendors, 3rd party contractors and Engineering Contractor.
• Review and respond to Technical Queries as required.
• Responsible as a competent person for the approval of vendors, 3rd party contractors and Main Engineering contractor’s process technical documents in a timely manner.
• Participate in risk assessment, Root Cause Analysis, safe operation assessments.
• Prepare AFE budget applications
• Promote technological innovations that can be economically exploited to improve safety or production performance for facilities.



Education Attainment & Accreditation

• HND or ideally degree qualified or equivalent in a Mechanical engineering discipline

Professional Skills & Experience

• Marine/oil tanker/shipping systems experience preferred.
• Previous offshore maintenance and operations experience within the oil and gas industry preferred
