The Role:
This position is for a Marine Package Manager working on a Coal Handling/Port Project.This role is site based in QLD, operating on a FIFO basis, and is primarily responsible for the delivery of construction field work in a safe and effective manner. In addition this role will guide Contractors to ensure that the project schedule and specifications are met and that work is completed safely within budget and on time.

Accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Providing excellent safety leadership on a construction site by organising, administering and controlling site activities in accordance with the relevant legislation, client and internal requirements;
Leading a team of construction supervisors overseeing the construction contractors' activities;
Ensuring the execution plan for each contract is logical, achievable and adequately resourced;
Providing excellent technical skills in the civil discipline;
Contributing commercial astuteness to contract administration;
Reporting on safety, technical, cost and time matters; and
Managing local stakeholder considerations for example, landowners, cultural heritage groups, DERM, local council, plus any other groups

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
At least 15 years heavy marine port works
Significant experience coordinating and leading discipline groups in a construction environment on mega projects
Experience in piling on port infrastructure projects
Experience with materials handling and port facilities is an advantage
Understanding of Australian industrial relations
Experience in coordinating with contractors of various disciplines
A relevant tertiary qualification.
