The Company:
Our Client is an O&G exploration and production company based in Aberdeen who operate in the North Sea. They have interests in a large number of fields, the majority of which they operate, on the UK Continental Shelf with numerous offshore installations and one onshore terminal.

The Role:
Position Overview

Responsible for Marine Operations to regulatory and company the standards. Lead, plan, co-ordinate a Marine team and vendors, ensuring all Marine activities are executed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Safety Management System.


* Plan, prepare, allocate and supervise resources to provide safe and efficient marine, logistics and support service to site in compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and legislation
* Manage team competence, development and performance to ensure all activities are carried out to the highest possible standard in accordance with the clients objectives

Key Duties

* Ensure the following marine operations and support services are carried out safely and efficiently:
o Cargo reception, storage and offloading and ballast control systems, mooring & lifting operations
o Security of watertight compartments
o First Line Maintenance of all cargo equipment
o Marine control including the supervision of heading control tugs
o Monitoring of hull stresses and vessel stability
o Tank entry and maintenance operations within tanks
o Helicopter, shipping and standby vessel operations
o All deck, crane and moving load operations
o Scaffolding and rigging of equipment
o Movement of material and equipment to work sites
o Cleaning, wash down, blasting and painting
o All over side work
o Bunkering of supplies from supply boats
* Provide support where appropriate to other site departments
* Liaise with Site Operations Co-ordinators to ensure all activities are effectively planned, scheduled and executed in accordance with the Planning & Scheduling Process
* Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew change
* Manage allocated marine and services budget effectively with minimum waste
* Manage performance and development of team including progression through competency scheme
* Complete annual appraisals for all team members in accordance with agreed pan
* Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in cost or time without loss of integrity and present to management
* Support and improve own and team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices and actively participating in supervisor workshops
* Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
* Create, maintain and enhance effective working relations and identify and minimise interpersonal conflict
* Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace
