The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
•Deliver and have ownership of Company Marine Assurance Standard
•Act as SME for all Marine & Floating Systems. (Including Helidecks, Nav Aids and Radio Comms).
•Ensure by process approval and audit that all vessels are managed and operated in accordance with company and regulatory policy, standards and procedures. Responsible for all aspects of pre hire Marine Audit of all company chartered vessels
•Works to ensure all UKMS Marine processes, procedures and systems are in place for identifying and managing engineering risk for marine projects and operational and technology activities
•Ensure appropriate HSE standards and vessel management processes are available and compliance by vessels and crews is maintained
•Identify best practices and resource provision to develop a Marine safety culture within company chartered vessels and the company to affect Offshore Marine related Operations
•Continuous review of industry for benchmarking marine competency standards
•Support the alignment of safety and business performance with all client marine safety principles
•Liaise with project managers in to support of safe and cost effective marine solutions for their planned operational requirements
•Provide technical input into contractual arrangements which contribute towards all vessels operating and performing in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
•Liaise and manage effective service provider Marine business relationships
•To manage the marine service provider process and the delivery of appropriate marine audits and safety inspections
•Support the technical planning and vessel requirements associated project activities
•Understands and uses the marine market place to support and determine sound business decision making

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree qualified or First Class Chief Engineers Certificate or Master Mariners Certificate or equivalent vocational standard
•Professionally qualified e.g. Master Mariner or Marine Engineering degree and/or a Motor Chief Engineer’s or Combined Certificate, although other combinations of relevant experience may suit
•Up-to-date knowledge of Flag and Class requirements and standards, the relevant UK legislation and how verification schemes interfaces with the Safety Case
•A self starter with extensive experience in marine operations
•Extensive understanding of oil and gas offshore operations,
•Ability to perform effectively under pressure
•Ability to influence at a senior level
•Recognised technical ability and expertise within the marine industry
