The Company:
Our Client is a leading international Operator

The Role:
Ensures alignment and compliance with the Company's Internal Controls Framework. Responsible for ensuring that Maritime establishes and maintains a clear view on the maritime regulatory framework. Develops Group Maritime Standards in close collaboration with technical authorities and end users. Coordinates a strategic approach to Industry engagement ensuring issues of strategic interest are prioritized and clear advocacy is developed and communicated.


- Accountable for the development and maintenance of processes and systems that support a clear view on the current maritime regulatory framework and compliance expectations. Support Department Heads in understanding their obligations and forward actions to maintain compliance.
- Initiate programs to verify that regulatory compliance is being maintained across all Company maritime activities. Supports appropriate Department Heads in Asset audit activities.
- Responsible for liaising with Department Heads to ensure that the Group's Internal Control Framework is understood and complied with. Group Standard requirements are effectively codified within Management Systems. Periodic updates to Company standards are understood and articulated to reinforce forward actions.
- Develops and implements training programs to support the effective implementation of Company standards and the maritime regulatory framework.
- Responsible for supporting the Director, Maritime Governance & Effectiveness in establishing appropriate programs of Assurance across all Group maritime activities. This will include Assurance planning activities as well as the maintenance of the Maritime elements of the VAF process, providing support for Functional and Readiness Reviews and tracking forward actions through to completion.
- Coordination of Company's maritime industry engagement ensuring issues of strategic importance are prioritized and that clear advocacy positions are developed and understood by Company industry representatives.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

- Marine related education and experience background with some sea time onboard a tanker, gas carrier or vessels within the offshore sector.

- Thorough understanding of the maritime regulatory framework, international standards and the International Safety Management code (ISM) is essential.

- Thorough understanding of project management framework including stage gate assurance processes is essential.

- Experience in developing and writing Group level Standards within a maritime environment is desirable.

- A college degree in Marine Operations, Nautical Science or Marine Engineering with an officer license reflecting the jobholder’s seagoing experience is desired.

- Familiarity with international travel is essential.
