The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experiences engineering professionals.

The Role:
To schedule and control the supply of components/materials to meet immediate production requirements and forward production programmes consistent with attaining target stock levels. To be aware of all factors that affects or may affect availability of use/fitment for all parts controlled.
Determine, evaluate, and verify supplier material delivery schedules to ensure that they correctly reflect requirements to meet immediate and future production demands.
Participate in the implementation of modifications, supplying all relevant information to Mods Control to enable optimum introduction dates to be determined, formulating schedules in line with Company procedures. Liaise with Suppliers, Purchase/Company Timing and Engineering Departments regarding the introduction/interchange ability of new parts and their status.
Initiate inventory management and stock adjustments when required, to maintain continued accuracy and reliability of stock records, analyzing stock status and movement of all parts under control whilst maintaining production continuity. Investigate discrepancies between computer stock and actually instigate corrective action necessary
Control the supply of components/materials to on-site receiving areas and off-site warehouses from the supply base. Determine and prioritise daily/weekly requirements by obtaining and analyzing information pertaining to build programme variance, receiving facility/supply constraints, internal/external disputes, quality/packaging/transport problems, etc, to balance stock levels against production requirements to avoid misfits.
Determine/maintain float stock against components under own control consistent with storage capabilities, supplier logistics, model usage, “points of fit”, usage value, in line with Company inventory policy. Identify and forecast supply constraints on a daily basis.
Establish good Company/supplier relationships involving all levels of supplier management in order to achieve departmental objectives. Identify adverse supplier performance to MP&L Management, discuss with supplier representatives and their senior personnel, formulate recovery plans and report planned remedial action to local management.
Negotiate with supplier, the finance for “special transport” to ensure costs are kept to an absolute minimum consistent with maintaining the supply of components for production continuity.
Where quality problems threaten production continuity, raise containments/rework requests, organize rework required, obtain suppliers authorization for cost where applicable to enable release of goods not confirming to Engineering specification.
Assist other departments as required; Accounts Department in resolution of invoice queries, highlight possible discrepancies to Production Process, perform Stores searches for mislaid consignments.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in Material Planning & Logistics or material handling preferable, ideally in the automotive industry
An awareness of AMPS / Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage
Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking resourceful action during periods of considerable pressure.
Automotive components experience desirable
Computer Literate essential
Degree or Higher diploma qualified or equivalent preferable
