The Company:
Global Oil Company looking to recruit a Material Control Lead for exciting phase of multi million £ project.

The Role:
• Oversee material control activities associated with the new terminal construction works, including bulk materials, equipment packages, consumables, etc.
• Oversee the materials management section of the supply chain both on and off site, through the main terminal contractor (MTC), in conjunction with PSCM
• Compile assurance reports on progress, safety, quality and cost throughout the project stages.
• Provide discipline specific support / input for the preparation of the Onshore Terminal technical documentation, (risks, lessons learned, constructability, etc.)
• Liaise with main construction team and 3rd party fabricators / suppliers on all issues relating to safety, progress, schedule, quality and cost.

• Understanding of current safety legislation (BS / EN / OSHA).
• Keen awareness of management of behavioural based site safety programmes
• Understanding of main aspects of supply chain management / materials control in the onshore Oil and Gas related fields.
• Understanding of main Integrated Material Control Systems used within the international Oil and Gas industry (e.g. KBR IPMS, etc.)
• Understand how to read relevant engineering drawings , specifications, codes
• Understanding of relevant quality, receipt, segregation and preservation procedures / requirements applied to major equipment packages / bulk materials/ etc., on similar Oil and Gas facilities
• Ability to understand and operate computer based integrated materials management systems
• Ability to understand logic linked schedules (P3 / P6 or similar).
• Ability to communicate effectively with contractor’s/line managers/ and supervision in English language (oral and written).
• Knowledge and understanding of client management operating systems
• Good IT skills, (understanding of MS office, etc.)

• Promoting project HSE objectives.
• Participate in the Onshore and Offshore team Risk Management Process
• Participate in task risk assessment meetings.
• Lead client materials management team and provide guidance to MTC teams in all aspects of the materials control for the terminal project, including HSE, Quality, schedule and cost related issues
• Ensure material control activities are in accordance with / support the Project schedule, budgets and all client's OMS requirements
• Coordinate material control reports through the integrated material management system
• Monitor contractor performance and highlight any concerns to line manager.
• Assist in the Construction team Lessons Learned Process
• Review and approval of procedures as necessary.
• Expediting site query response from contractor, where applicable
• Witnessing and approving preservation / OS&D reports, etc.
• Review and acceptance of contractor procedures for all materials management processes
• Attending / holding project meetings as required.
• Compilation of reports as required.
• Encourage development of Azeri National personnel
• Provide advice, coaching and training Azeri National personnel
• Assist PSCM in the process of procuring packages as required, throughout the supply chain, through to commissioning
• Mentor and assist in training of junior staff as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum: HNC / HND or equivalent in engineering / or materials management discipline plus Registered incorporated engineer
• Desired: Degree in business or engineering plus Registered chartered engineer

• Track record of experience gained in oil and gas / petrochemical / power generation related international projects, in a similar role leading to development of the following skill sets:
a) Leading teams of material personnel in a professional manner through all of the main aspects of a project (planning, organisation, motivational, control systems)
b) Demonstrable experience of controlling large material control facilities preferably involving multinational workforce
c) Coordinate planning activities on a daily / weekly basis and linking into schedule
d) Organising resources into work groups suitable to oversee the timely receipt, marshalling, preservation, and distribution of materials activities.
e) Coordinating resolution of technical issue
