The Company:
Our Major O&G Client has an immediate opening for a Material Controller!

The Role:
The Material Controller is responsible for coordinating and managing company owned inventories of materials and equipment in support of drilling activity and production operations materials/equipment. These functions include both the financial and tangible aspects of inventory control. This may also include supervision and monitoring over Company inventories typically held at third party facilities and storage yards. Financial functions primarily emphasize the proper recording and reporting of inventory in compliance with Company Accounting Policy, Joint Venture Agreements (when applicable) and COPAS. The successful candidate will be effective in utilizing systems and processes, have strong materials expertise, work well in a collaborative work environment, able to work with limited supervision and possess exceptional administrative organizational and time management skills. The position will be located in Houston, Texas. There could be some domestic travel (less than 50%) based on the needs of the organization.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Coordinate with GP (Global Procurement) personnel on location specific new purchases of tubulars, wellhead and other associated material that are charged direct to well WBS’s or inventory including processing of Goods Receipt into SAP.
• Monitor and manage all aspects of company owned inventory while being held at third party facilities and/or storage yards. This includes, but is not limited to, processing of mill reject claims, maintaining a Preventative Maintenance Program, ordering repair work, disposition of surplus and obsolete inventories.
• Implement instructions received from NAPO, WWD&C and GP personnel on fulfillment of material requirements to and from well site/facility. This primarily covers coordination on load out instructions to third party storage yards, fabrication of float equipment joints, prepping tubulars for downhole service, servicing material returned from well site and/or facility, etc.
• Collaborate to maximize internal use/redeployment of surplus

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate must exhibit proven professional skills along with personal characteristics which are necessary for success in a collaborative matrix based organization model.

- Exceptional intelligence and keen conceptual skills
- Intellectual discipline, self-confidence, and imagination
- Bias for action and an orientation towards proactive problem solving
- Ability to function with limited managerial oversight
- Willingness to travel as required to monitor third party storage facilities/yards
- Undergraduate degree is preferred
