The Role:
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) Material Controller will report to the Houston based Procurement Manager – Materials. The SME will be responsible for providing daily support coordination, special request, and assistance to all North America Production Operations (NAPO) material controllers. SME will be the central contact between Global Procurement (GP) and NAPO accounting regarding inventory management. Coordinate with Houston Tax pertaining to NAPO property taxes for inventory. Become Company’s primary representative to STA (Strategic Trade Alliance) and IRA (Investment Recovery Association). The successful candidate will be expected to be effective in utilizing systems and processes, have strong materials expertise, work well in a collaborative work environment and possess exceptional administrative organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities:
Establish Material Controller Annual Goals.
Send out Notice for Upcoming Year Planner for Monthly Counts annually.
Request/Compare new JV Audits Status Recap from IBM annually.
Enter Bwise and monitor/close out compliance review of Monthly Count Reports quarterly.
NAPO Accounting Inventory Balance Reports quarterly.
Ensure Well Reconcilement Log is updated/maintained by NAPO Accounting monthly.
Ensure JV Audit Status Log is maintained/current monthly.
Coordinate with IBM A/P on processing of after-the-fact cash discounts for inventory purchases.
Maintaining/updating Materials Management Procedures, Processes, Desk Manual and Advisories to maximize efficiency and standardization for NAPO Material Controllers. Training on new Material Controllers (Formal Onboarding Process). Managing Network International Contract.
Financial functions primarily emphasize the proper recording and reporting of all inventories in compliance with Company Accounting Policy and Joint Venture Agreements (when applicable).
Collaborate with Material Controllers in North America and Global Procurement to maximize internal use/redeployment of surplus company owned inventories.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree: Bachelors Preferred

Major: Industrial Distribution or related. Procurement/Business

Computer Proficiencies:

Strong Computer Skills in particular with Microsoft Office based products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc). Also knowledge of SAP MM module and reporting tools preferred.
Familiarity with procurement processes, policies and procedures
Prefer a background in materials control, especially drilling and production related goods

Travel: 30-40%
