The Company:
Global Operator with extensive interests across Angola requires a Material Coordinator. Working on 28/28 rotation

The Role:
Responsibilities: Review • Review the contract requirements relative for material shipping and receiving. • Review the project and industry standards, identifying the applicable acceptance criteria for the work and tasks described in the Quality Assurance Plan. • Review the project specific plans, procedures and specifications to assure understanding of QA/QC requirements, documentation and approvals. Plan • Understand and review Contractor staging and lay down areas for proper storage of materials. • Look two weeks ahead for specific work tasks and deliveries, anticipating needed resources. This will require close communications with Contractor. • Ensuring proper rigging techniques responsible for safe material handling operations performed by Contractor personnel. • Management of Company operating spares to be handed over at the end of project including a complete data base of all materials. • Ensure all parties are made aware and use of the latest revisions to Company's Technical Requirements. • Identify areas for improvement in both Company and Contractor procedures and systems. These shall be identified and brought forth through the Construction Manager to be reviewed and potentially implemented. • Assure MTR are available for all materials as per project requirements before arrival into the yard. • Prepare hand-over plan throughout the entire rotation for effective transition to back-to-back. Execute • Perform oversight by evaluating material handling throughout all aspects of materials logistics in Country. Recommending corrections and improvements to accelerate and streamline materials for the overall benefit of the project. • Daily oversight and direction of materials controllers reporting to Material Coordinator. • Inspection and inventory of all project related materials received in the yard. • Review and approval of all Material Receiving Vouchers (MRV) issued by Contractor. • Review and approval of all OSD through final closeout. • Ensure work is being performed in a safe and efficient manner. • Provide early warning to Construction Manager for potential quality problems and ensure non-conformances are identified, tracked and closed. • Provide expertise to site team to avoid and resolve quality problems • Review Contractor’s completion files for accuracy and adequacy throughout the project to aid in efficient handover. • Implement and maintain effective quality management system as identified by the CRX Project. • Monitor quality performance of Contractor work on daily basis. • Report daily feedback to Construction Manager. Report • Provide inputs for Daily Exception Report. • Updates of OSD through final closeout. • Random audits of material tracking by Contractor. • Review documentation for material traceability as per project requirements. Safety • All project positions are responsible to assure all personnel work safe and go home safe every night. Material Coordinator shall be responsible for demonstrating a strong safety culture to both the Company’s representatives and well as Contractor personnel. • Material Coordinator will be required to demonstrate the IIF culture and have the ability to provide leadership in advancing the IIF culture and specific project programs. This includes but is not limited to the following: o Participate and sometimes lead in daily tool box talks with Company and Contractor personnel. o Participate and sometimes lead weekly project safety meetings demonstrating good understanding of safe work practices and potential hazards and risks. o Actively participate on the IIF or Safety Leadership Team and IIF events when requested. o Implement STOP work authority as and when required. o Participative in BBS observation program for Company and Contractor as identified in the fabrication yard.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in logistics and material management and a minimum of two (2) years in construction activities in the oil, gas and/or petrochemical industry. • Familiar with oil, gas and/or petrochemical industry standards and materials specifications. • Highly motivated and demonstrated experience in the field directing contractors; with the ability to mentor junior engineers and material controllers. • Ability to read, interpret, and understand piping and structural drawings for material take-offs. • Well versed with freight forwarding and customs procedures. • Strong organizational skills, with the ability for planning and executing a material management database. • Competent in general computer use including in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel. • Must be able to read, interpret and communicate (both written and verbally) detailed technical concepts in English.
