The Company:
Our client are a major operator within Oil and Gas with operations in the North Sea.

The Role:
To execute the Material handling Lead function for the Project within defined scope of work.

• Ensure the requirements for material handling is established including plan and main methods for handling of all items requiring lifting and transportation structure and devices (permanent or temporary)
• Follow up material handling philosophy and lay out (attend lay out design reviews/ meeting)
• Follow up material handling together with HSE Work Environment for equipment packages, transport routs, lay-down areas, lifts, pedestal crane(s)
• Follow up material handling report for lifting and maintenance including the Crane study developed by the EPC contractor.
• Ensure that the EPC contractor(s) activities and solutions will meet operations requirements and industry best practice within this area.
• Participate in and deliver operational and maintenance input to required procedures inside this area.
• Participate in commissioning and certification of all lifting equipment. Lifting facilities in place for relevant equipment, space for fork lift, valves position etc. are in optimal positions.
• Cargo/lay down areas with strong crash barriers and cargo securing.
• Work shop and storage as required.
• Support updates of Design Basis and Functional Requirements as required
• Input and support to the following activities as required:
o LLI and Procurement processes
o Planning process
o Interfaces
o Change process
• Participate in Contractors discipline meetings when required
• Review and comment on materials handling documents prepared by Contractor to ensure compliance with project requirements
• Participate in project risk analysis sessions
• Attend Engineering meetings
• Establish need for 3rd part verification if required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University degree or similar relevant education and experience
• Skilled in Material handling and crane operation issues

• Experience with operations, engineering, commissioning and testing of equipment and system in offshore projects.
• Knowledge in Norwegian legislation (Activity Regulation) and NORSOK standards.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience from working within in oil and gas industry
• Experience in execution of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects
• Applied best available technology
• Project Engineering systems/tools
• Applied NCS HSE related requirement and use of Hazid and Hazop
• Fluent in English, verbal and written

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Proactive and positive attitude as a team member
• Apply best engineering quality and risk management processes and activities
• Network effectively, good communication skills within and outside the project
• Be aware of the broader perspective and how it affects the project
• HS&E (including security) awareness
