The Role:
Job Overview
To manage the material planning activities for all Aftersales parts in order to maintain the highest availability for current and future models whilst controlling investment levels and minimising the risk to obsolescence.
To offer optimal parts fulfilment through dealer ordering systems, ensuring that the global dealer network receive the very best levels of service and support in delivering the ultimate customer experience.
This is a key role within the Parts Operations Team

Key Accountabilities
Team Management – Manage both the Material Planning and Parts Ordering team ensuring that the team are motivated and consistently delivering to the highest possible standards whilst delivery key departmental targets.
Global Parts Ordering – Manages the day to day parts ordering and distribution to the dealer network ensuring that daily orders are processed by the parts ordering team in the most efficient and effective manner.
Parts Credits – Manages the dealer credit process ensuring that dealer credit requests and dealt with in a timely manner whilst also proposing and instigating corrective measures to deal with root causes ensuring that repeat occurrences are avoided.
Parts Availability – Ensure optimum parts supply in order to consistently exceed parts availability KPIs.
Inventory Management – Assess inventory levels ensuring that availability is maximised without leading to wastage / obsolescence. In the event that an excess stock situation is identified, or a part is rendered obsolete, make appropriate recommendations to minimise cost impact.
Supplier Management – Ensure that parts suppliers understand business requirements and deliver a consistent and reliable service at all stages through the vehicle lifecycle.
Material Planning Management – Consider future business trends and ensure these are built in to the material planning process to ensure that the business is ready for planned growth and expansion
Run Out Management – Manage the run-out process when a vehicle reaches the end of production, calculating future stock quantity requirements, potentially requiring ‘one-time buy’ provision.

Key Challenges:
Offer the ‘pinnacle’ customer service though maximum availability.
Resolve all back orders with the shortest delay for the customer.
React and respond to the changing demands of our customers and markets.
Define Parts Ordering & Material Planning Strategy to strengthen team, systems & processes to manage future business requirements
Manage and control Spare parts ordering for worldwide dealer network currently receiving over 20,000 orders containing more than 100,000 items per year, with a current annual forecast turnover of €25 million and growing significantly year on year.
Secure the replenishment of the entire spare parts assortment which is currently 18,500 part numbers.
Define All Time Buy (ATB) stock levels in conjunction with a risk assessment and suggestion for accrual for goodwill to support 40 years service for dealers/customers.
Maintaining dealer and customer satisfaction on a global basis

Qualifications and Skills
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
Detailed knowledge and operational experience in the spare parts business with experience and understanding of material planning and stock control processes
Team management experience
Excellent communication skills with ability to assert oneself
Good IT skills, including MS Office & ideally SAP
Knowledge of international exports and import regulations
Ideally a broad understanding / experience of the legal, social, cultural differences of key markets
