The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
Job Purpose

To ensure parts are available to meet the production plan, whilst ensuring obsolescence is minimised.


Key Responsibilities & Tasks
•Lead and manage a team that ensure;
•Parts are available to meet minimum safety stock levels
•Inventory levels do not exceed maximum safety stock levels
•Obsolescence does not result from engineering changes or new model revisions / introductions
•Where shortages arise, swift action is taken to minimise the impact on production and solutions are communicated to all impacted stakeholders
•Issue resolution for shortages result in the prevention of repeat issues
•Quantity related invoice queries are managed in a timely fashion to prevent commercial issues
•Supplier demand is forecast and communicated to the supply base; proactive discussions take place to predict and prevent issues impacting production
•Where long term supply issues arise, support is available to work with Purchasing and Quality teams to resolve those issues on site at the supplier
•Minimise the need for direct deliveries (rather than planned pick-ups) and emergency shipments
•Ensure team member performance is managed and developed via the appraisal and development planning processes
•Manage the emergency delivery budget
•Manage the engine volume contract; liaise with Purchasing and Finance Directors in relation to commercial aspects of the contract
•Liaise with aftermarket parts business to supply parts where this is commercially viable

Key Performance Indicators:
•Number of parts in arrears (less than minimum safety stock)
•Number of parts impacting production (parts missed point of fit and zero stock items)
•Under emergency delivery budget
