The Role:
Job Overview
Ownership of the continuous development of the long term sustainability strategy, for all spare parts for vehicles beyond end of production. Assuring the appropriate supply solution to uphold availability, control working capital and maintaining supplier performance.
Manage the material planning for Aftersales parts to maintain the highest availability for current Client models and derivatives, considering investment and risk to obsolescence, which combined, delivers industry leading parts service to fulfill brand expectations of effortless ownership experience.


Key Accountabilities
Run Out Strategy – Define strategy, owning the entire run-out process and management of spare parts for legacy vehicles including purchasing, storage and distribution.
Get commitment from suppliers to support Aftersales by supplying legacy parts after EOP to ensure suitable availability can be offered for the life of the car (40 years service life commitment).
Responsible for all Run-Out parts forecasting to support storage and warehousing processes and facilities.
Responsible for achieving an annual average target of 95% global parts availability of fast moving stocked parts (>5 sales per year).
Responsible for achieving an annual average target of 92% global parts availability of slow moving stocked parts (<5 sales per year).
Responsible for managing the inventory investment, ensuring we are not overexposed with excess stock. To eliminate / minimise risk of loss through scrap and reduce direct and indirect costs of stockholdings and improve working capital position.
Ensure swift back order resolution by identifying and sourcing non stocked parts to address all customer requirements in the fastest possible time ensuring maximum customer and dealer satisfaction.
SAP MRP system – evaluate and forecast parts demand, making appropriate parts ordering decisions to ensure that the highest possible availability can be maintained whilst keeping investment and stock holding down using best practice relevant to each part.
Represent Aftersales in Purchasing & Parts Product Management circles, ensuring information is captured, transfer and Aftersales requirements are achieved.

Agree and co-ordinate supplier remanufacturing processes to sustain availability of legacy parts.


Qualifications and Skills
Ideally educated to Degree level or equivalent in a Business or Engineering discipline. However, relevant experience in a similar field is equally valued
Knowledge and Operational experience in the spare parts business
Detailed experience and in-depth knowledge of material planning and stock control processes
Knowledge and experience in Parts Run-Out / Change Management
Project Management experience
Strong general IT skills, including Client Group systems (EPC / ETK), MS Office & SAP
Experience in building cross-functional teams
Ability to react on changing market demands
An individual with a strong brand focus and long term vision
Excellent communication skills with ability to assert oneself (ability to communicate to different cultures with sensitivity and respect)
Analytical, logical and self motivated individual with the ability to motivate
Awareness of global consumer laws which impact on customer exchange and buy-backs

Ensure pinnacle customer service through maximum parts availability whilst operating with the lowest risk of inventory obsolescence and to stock turnover ratio targets
Deliver an EOP plus 40 years service life parts strategy which is unique within the Client Group
Manage all back orders - swift and efficient resolution to ensure utmost customer satisfaction
For the first time in the Client's history, develop a Run-Out Strategy to strengthen team, systems & processes to manage future business requirements against a backdrop of significant and rapid growth
Monitor data accuracy of all legacy parts in EPC / ETK. Co-ordinating with Parts Product Management.
Alternative Supply or Service Concept - where there is no alternative, an agreed service solution is to be documented and published for future reference
Support both the Launch and Supplier Quality Material Planning Specialists in calculating and making judgements on lifetime procurement and stocking requirements for all parts
Ensure Client is the global centre of expertise in respect of legacy parts. Fulfilling the demands of customers when their vehicles have aged significantly
