The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta. This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
As a Materials & Corrosion Engineer your main duties will involve:
Development and management of materials test programmes
Analysis of material testing data.
Development of constitutive models to describe complex material behaviour, e.g. corrosion, fatigue, fracture, environmentally assisted crack growth etc.
Delivery of technical reports.
Technical leadership of analysis projects
Technical oversight and review of the work of other staff
Shaping technical programmes in support of major enterprises in the Oil & Gas sector
Development and management of client relationships
Identification of tasks and production of client proposals

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As a Materials & Corrosion Engineer you will have experience:
Relevant degree in engineering, chemistry or materials science
Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and assessment codes
Materials failure investigation and root cause analysis
Corrosion risk assessment and mitigation strategies
Cathodic protection
Materials selection
Coatings technology
Good interpersonal client-facing skills
Excellent technical report writing experience
Knowledge of state-of-the art tools and processes in the UK Oil & Gas sector
