The Company:
A multinational utility company its principal activity is the supply of electricity and gas to businesses and consumers in the United Kingdom and North America. It is the largest supplier of gas to domestic customers in the UK, and one of the largest suppliers of electricity. It is also active in the exploration and production of natural gas; electricity generation; and the provision of household services including plumbing.

The Role:
Managing day to day materials & logistics activities for the Netherlands Hub, ensuring a safe and efficient service, the Materials and Logistics Team Lead will report to the Netherlands Operations Manager and will have a functional line to the UKNL Materials & Logistics Manager.

The Materials and Logistics Team Lead will possess a demonstrably sound understanding of current legislation and industry best practise in respect of Marine, Aviation, Inventory Management and Shore based logistics and materials handling. Furthermore the Materials and Logistics Team Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimisation of resources and contractor performance.

Materials and Logistics Team Lead - The Role

• Provide leadership and direction to team members ensuring delivery of team objectives
• CE E&P NL focal point for Aviation and Marine matters providing CE E&P NL representation within appropriate industry focus groups and steering committees.
• Manage performance of third party Aviation, Marine and Logistics contractors, ensuring a safe, efficient and cost effective service is delivered
• Report on monthly logistics performance and costs, identifying opportunities for performance enhancement and cost reduction
• Assume ownership and manage Marine, Aviation and Shore based logistics processes and procedures, regularly reviewing same in consultation with Marine and Aviation Technical authorities where required and communicate changes to all stakeholders
• Act as a local focal point for Materials, Logistics and Inventory control requirements to ensure that all commercial/business undertakings are put in place on the most cost-effective and minimal risk basis and in accordance with the Company’s Material and Logistics Services Procedures
• Supports the tendering, evaluation and negotiation process in relation to the award of contracts and agreements
• Provides support to or leads quarterly reviews, FPAL assessments and performance reviews and identifies improvement plans for under-performing contracts
• Ensures commercial and contractual risk is considered in all technical documentation and that the company is not exposed to undue contractual risk

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Materials and Logistics Team Lead - The Person

• Qualified to min HND level • Member of relevant professional organisation e.g. CIPS / NEVI
• Min 5 years’ experience within Oil and Gas
• Sound commercial awareness and up-to-date knowledge of industry/regulatory contracting practices
• Numerate, analytical and logical
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good knowledge of office/supply chain IT systems/software
• Proven relationship-builder, both internally and externally
• Well-developed problem-solving skills
