The Role:
The Materials & Welding Engineer will advise and provide technical assurance on materials and welding issues related to onshore pipelines, onshore terminal, offshore facilities and subsea systems as required. Please note we are looking for candidates who possess considerable topside and onshore experience.

Duties:
•Ensure compliance with the relevant technical integrity and HSSE standards.
•Provide materials and welding technical support to, pipelines, onshore facilities, offshore facilities and subsea production systems as required.
•Act as a source of technical expertise on materials & welding issues to Projects.
•Ensure that the Materials, Welding and Corrosion Lead Engineer and the Engineering Authority as appropriate are kept appraised of key issues, status and outstanding actions related to materials and welding.
•Advise on use of standards, practices and design guidelines.
•Engage with SETA’s and other functional level experts (including GSHT specialists) to ensure alignment of expectations, adoption of best practise and transfer of lessons learnt/technical integrity issues to and from projects.

Technical Integrity
•Review, advise and engage with engineering contractors and suppliers on materials, corrosion and welding requirements, design philosophies, functional specifications and detailed designs for subsea and pipeline work-scopes and as required for onshore and offshore facility workscopes.
•Ensure that materials, welding and corrosion activities for SD2 comply with the Project SoR, BOD and functional requirements.
•Bring materials, corrosion and welding issues to resolution with the engineering contractor and suppliers. Seek guidance from Materials, Welding and Corrosion Lead

Engineer and UEC as required.
•Participate in project design HAZID’s, risk analyses, workshops, TRAPs, FMECA activities as required.
•Review project materials, welding and corrosion related specifications.
•Ensure all welding and material risks are identified.

Contractor Management
•Review materials engineering specifications and data sheets prepared by contractors.
•Support PSCM on material requisitions, bid evaluation and PO placement.
•Provide materials engineering support for fabrication, installation and commissioning tenders and evaluations.
•Promote safety and environmental responsibility in all aspects of materials, corrosion and welding.
•Assist in technical bid reviews, bid clarification meetings, technical audits.
•Attend regular design and constructability interface meetings as required between PMT, design contractors and installation contractors.

Engineering Performance
•Protect and enhance clients reputation.
•Identify and deliver value opportunities.

Leadership
•Promote strong HSE performance within team and contracting organisations.
•Promote and uphold the client code of conduct.
