The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage.

The Role:
Our Client is looking for a Materials Buyer who will be responsible for the procurement support to Operations in relation to purchasing of inventory and other miscellaneous procurement items. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects relevant to prequalification, preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment of tenders and award, then execution, management and close out of Purchase orders.

Your duties will include but not limited to:
• Source local suppliers for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) spares and bulks to ensure Australian Industry Participation objectives are being considered and implemented
• Prepare Request for Quotations (RFQs) and evaluate responses
• Negotiate with suppliers terms and conditions of Purchase Order (PO), and improve prices
• Coordinate on contractual, commercial, taxation, insurance, HSES and legal issues with relevant internal stakeholders
• Raise POs and resolve queries as required and expedite the delivery of purchased items and ensure their compliance with the required specifications and delivery date
• Identify issues and provide solutions in line with the Contracts and Procurement procedures
• Maintain positive vendor relationships

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In order to fulfil the role you must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following commercial, technical and interpersonal aspects:

• In this role you should have procurement experience preferably within an Oil and Gas operating environment
• You should also have solid understanding of inventory, cataloguing, quality control, logistics and warehousing principals
• Exposure to SAP (MM) will be required to perform the role
• Have strong experience in contract formulation activities, systems and processes
