The Company:
Our client, a major oil and gas operator, is seeking a Materials/Coating Engineer for one of their majoir projects.

The Role:
1. Responsible for ensuring that the facilities Materials and Coatings for both the FPSO and Subsea systems meet the project requirements, specifications, and business unit expectations and work within overall cost and schedule.
2. Takes a lead technical role in defining all materials, corrosion mitigation, coatings and preservation best for full life cycle in an environment in which active maintenance needs to be minimized. Develop alignment on materials and coatings between technical resources and project team including Operations and HES. Applies comprehensive materials and corrosion engineering skills through all facets of design, construction, operation and maintenance. Utilizes significant insight of reliability, engineering, and process knowledge to troubleshoot equipment problems and prevent incidents.
3. Initiates, plans and implements and serves as project team expert and coordinator to work, troubleshoot and resolve critical materials, corrosion and coatings issues. Performs complex materials engineering analysis. Utilizes knowledge and background of codes to decipher controversial issues.
4. Leads/assists project team efforts to effectively engage and manage stakeholders in materials and coatings through reporting, meetings, presentations, preparation of decision papers, workshops, etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BS preferred or equivalent experience BSc (UK)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Accomplished practitioner of providing materials expertise to large complex projects in Phase 3 and Phase 4. Has a broad knowledge of upstream facilities design and construction requirements and can coordinate effectively with the various disciplines. Experienced overseeing/ coordinating/ leading the efforts of the client and contractor and providing material composition solutions. Experience of harsh-environment FPSOs would be a distinct benefit.
Desirable Work Experiences:
1) Recent MCP work
2) FPSO's and projects with a subsea component
3) UK regulatory environment and design codes, standards, and practices
4) Fabrication yard and operating experience.
